Five minutes’ drive from the medieval village of Ribes de Freser, this quiet, family campsite on the Segadell river has excellent air quality and is free from noise pollution – all the better for relaxing alpine breaks snoozing by the outdoor pool.
However, should you wish to get out sightseeing, the campsite is in Ripollès – a region known for stunning mountain landscapes, wildlife, gastronomy and Romanesque architecture, so there are plenty of different activities to keep everyone entertained.
If your interests lie in something more physical, the expert staff in reception can recommend and organise all sorts of mountain adventures, from hiking and cycling in pine forest to skiing up at La Molina resort (40 minutes’ drive).
However you decide to spend your time at Càmping Vall de Ribes, everything is tip-top on site to make life pleasant and easy for you. As well as the pool, keep kids occupied at the play area, and let teens make new friends over ping-pong in the games room.
When it comes to catering, make the decision between grilling up local produce on the shared barbecues, or mosey along to the restaurant (weekends only) where you’ll get fabulous mountain views along with a menu of regional specialities.

Lokalne atrakcje
Visit either the medieval sites of Girona (an hour and a half’s drive) or the Sagrada Família cathedral in Barcelona (two hours) on a day tour, but if you’d rather stay more local, there’s loads to see there too. Check out the Monestir de Santa Maria de Ripoll (20 minutes) to appreciate its fine Romanesque architecture and stone carvings in the cloisters, or spot the simple wooden Crucifixion sculptures on the altar at the Monastery of Sant Joan de Les Abadesses (35 minutes).
Kids need a change from culture? Indulge them with a trip to Molló Animal Parc (50 minutes’ drive), where you can spot rare animals indigenous to the Pyrenees – lynx, brown bears and wolves to name but three – in their natural setting. Chances are most kids will also love the chance to explore the remote Vall de Núria from the rack railway that leaves from Ribes-Vila station (five minutes).
And if you’d rather explore on foot, take in the natural beauty of the region with a stop-off at Mirador de Ribes de Freser (20 minutes) for views over forested mountains and alpine villages.
