Teeing off fans should beetle along to Carhaix Golf at Carhaix-Plouguer 15 minutes' drive away, where there's a nine-hole course, play for all ages and hour-long instruction sessions for beginners. If this is a tad too tame for your tastes, Carhaix-Plouguer is also home to the fab Karaez Adrénaline treetop adventure park, where you and the kids/other half can swing through the trees, tackle the giant maze and summon up all your nerve to try the Hyèr'O'Gliss’ trail, the longest zipline in Brittany (it runs through the spectacular Hyères river valley, so do try to open your eyes and look down at some point). Set off out biking, hiking, canoeing or horse riding if your holiday plan is to stay around your peaceful green base; if you're up for day trips plenty of famed spots are within easy reach. The beaches of Plomodiern (50 minutes' drive), Bénodet (an hour) and Carantec (an hour and five minutes) are where you should head for coastal adventures; for family days, try Pont-Scorff Zoo or the famed aquarium of Océanopolis, each 55 minutes' drive away. Further afield but worth the hour and 40 minutes' drive is Pointe du Raz, the French equivalent of England's and Cornwall's Land's End.
