The outlook from our pitch (hard standing for the campervan, with grassy area next to it for the awning) was gorgeous, with views over to King Alfred’s Tower. Also, being able to have a camp fire was fantastic. We were warned that it can get windy so had extra strong tent pegs with us and were grateful as one night was very stormy. Great campsite and we hope to return. So close to the A303 ( but not so close that it is noisy) that it would be a good stop-over for a longer journey down to Devon/Cornwall - although you might not want to leave!

It doesn't have manicured grass areas but a lovely view and big area where we were able to walk the dog. The shower block was very clean and I liked the artistic touches to walls and mirrors. There was also a very welcoming sitting area in the same block as the showers. I didn't have a shower but my husband did and found it to be ok. We were meeting a group of old friends at Stourhead so it was very conveniently situated for us.

We do our best to offer a welcoming space and are improving all the time. The shower block is old and every year we do a little more to it. This winter I am re vamping the gents making the ladies unisex (and heated) while we do the work, so if you do come back hopefully you will see the improvements

You did arrive while there is end of season work going on at the back of the site so I could understand if you had mentioned that .......but strange?......different maybe and definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I do think a 2 out of 10 does show a lack of generosity of character myself when making an assessment of the place .......particularly as you expressed no issues during your stay..... and to say you liked the chickens is very odd seeing as you allowed your lose dog to chase the poor things...

Good to have a full picnic bench right outside too. Top double (king) bed was very comfortable and cosy/warm. Didn’t need the heater on despite a cold night outside. Well supplied with tea etc. would definitely stay again.

Just loads of space, pick where you want to pitch up, toilets and showers are always spotless and the showers are hot. Oversett (Drevet av Google Translate)Likt: Perfect for our young one’s first ever camping trip! We were looking for something more than just a field and this delivered (beautiful views surrounded by farmland/animals). Staff and camping neighbours were very friendly and accommodating.
We loved the delivery of kindling and wood straight to the wood burner that was on our pitch (great to see free use of the wood burner equipment).
Showers were cleaned to an exceptionally high standard and the water pressure and hot water was fine for us.
This is clearly a well loved site managed by the attentive owners.
