The big attraction at this palm tree-shaded Lower Keys site is the proximity to the beach, which forms the boundary of the property along its eastern side. The water here is remarkably clear, inviting you to spend your days swimming, paddleboarding and snorkelling. No need to fret if you don’t have the necessary gear: an on-site store is stocked with equipment for most water-based pursuits. Then there’s the fishing, of course. The staff will be able to direct you to local outfits that charter boats for deep-sea fishing, so you can have a go at catching barracuda and snappers. The rooftop pool is a top spot for a piña colada and a selfie, and don’t worry about kids splashing about and ruining your mojo: there’s a daily adults-only session where you can swim in peace without having to dodge inflatable crocodiles. If you fancy a waterfront stroll, the Long Beach Trail passes through the site.
