Daily excursions to the lush and local Tuscan Chianti vineyards is just one of the top features of this friendly and well-appointed site in the Province of Florence – you should probably go on at least a few to become fully acquainted with the local grapes... A splendid site setting can also be easily ticked off your holiday list with a stay here: Norcenni Girasole Village is halfway between Florence and Arezzo, within easy reach of Pisa and Siena, set stretching over the Chianti hills with spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside. Its well-organised information point can give you info on all the above as well as on local tours and activities, and trip bookings to Tuscany's main destinations or a little further afield to Rome. Several days' lazing around on site should be sorted too, as there's a swish spa and wellness centre (well, all that Chianti sampling can be stressful), and two fine big waterparks with pools, jet streams and slides. Ping pong, tennis, basketball, miniature golf and football are around too if you're up for being active; you can also hire bikes or book horse riding straight on site. After a jam-packed day around the local vineyards, Tuscan hills or art cities, take in some of the summer evening entertainment, or settle down for dinner at one of the site restaurants – washed down with the finest Chianti wines, natch. If you'd rather cook up a storm pitchside, you'll find pretty much everything you need at the well-stocked supermarket, and more fine Chianti wines at Norcenni Girasole Village's own wine cellar.

The well-informed and friendly Norcenni Girasole Village team reckons there's so much to do in Tuscany that holidaymakers are likely to run out of time before ticking everything off their must-see list – reasons to book another Tuscan trip asap, surely…? Start off at the site information point to have a natter with staff about the best tours and activities in the area, and to book trips to the main Tuscan sights such as Florence (45 minutes), Siena (an hour and a quarter) and Pisa (an hour and a half). You can also head south to Rome, reachable within about two and a half hours by bus. Just driving along the narrow country roads among the spectacular Tuscany scenery is another pastime recommended by the site team, around more of the Chianti vineyards or the small and traditional local villages such as Chianti and Barberino val d’Elsa.
