Off to the Ardèche? Have a stylish stay at this big and lively family park less than two kilometres from the handsome village of Villeneuve-de-Berg and under 10 kilometres from Vogue. (If you want to to delve yet more deeply into this pretty part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the spectacular Gorges de l'Ardèche and the Gorges du Gardon are both about 20 kilometres from Villeneuve-de-Berg.) A vast range of stuff to do for all ages is at Camping Le Pommier, including a waterpark with three pools, each surrounded by sun loungers and poolside snack bars; a playground and games room, and regular outdoor and creative activities such as canoeing on the River Ardèche. There's a kids' club and plenty of entertainment for children throughout the day, and evening entertainment is provided for adults. Amenities at the park include showers, toilets, a launderette and a washing-up area. Free wifi is available. A restaurant, bar, terrace, shops and a bakery are to hand for food and supplies; there are also plenty of vineyards in the region, as well as restaurants in the neighbouring villages.

Lokale attraksjoner

Local town Villeneuve-de-Berg is within 30 kilometres of three of the Grand Sites of France, the Ardèche and Gardon gorges and the jaw-dropping subterranean stalactites and stalagmites of the Aven d'Orgnac caves: all three need at least a day each. Also a must within 30 kilometres is the Pont-d'Arc, the huge natural stone bridge straddling the Ardèche river. Canoeing and kayaking are both popular here, along the river, under the bridge and into the spectacular Ardèche Canyon. The Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave, with the earliest discovered palaeolithic cave paintings in the world, is near the bridge. Closer to home at 10 kilometres away, the Parc Animalier de Lussas is a good option for a family day out, as is the troglodyte dwelling of the Balmes de Montbrun nine kilometres away. Around the diverse landscapes of the Monts d'Ardèche Natural Regional Park, tackle the 315 kilometres of mountain biking trails or hike the hills before sinking into one of the park's three thermal spas.
