In this smashing countryside setting hiking, cycling and mountain biking expeditions right from the farm are a cinch, and the Jura lakes and mountains that lie around the land are within easy reach too. For a good splash of family fun, the shoots, flumes and wave machines of Aquaparc Isis are less than 20 minutes' drive away, and grownups can head out for hazy days of wine tasting around the vineyards of Burgundy and the Jura. A mere 20-minute drive will bring you to the lovely little town of Dole, on the Doubs river, for a sterling day trip out; start at the town centre and make your way across the river for a splendid view of the church, looking out across the town and its rouge rooftops. Beaune, Dijon and Lons-le-Saunier are all well worth a visit too.
