Generelt
Quarterland Bay Campsite is a welcoming site in County Down, right on the splendid shores of Strangford Lough. Spectacular waterside views can be seen all over at this well-maintained tents-only spot, with direct access to the Strangford Lough Cycle Trail as an added bonus for cyclists.
This area has much to offer swimmers too, who can head to Ballymorran Bay (10 minutes' walk) for open-air exercise in stunning surrounds. (Got a wetsuit? Pack it, as these waters tend to be on the chillier side). Kayakers, canoeists and folks with paddleboards will also find ample opportunities to spend time on the water in the surrounding area; the sheltered waters of Quarterland Bay (a few minutes' walk) makes this a great spot to launch your craft.
The pitches at this simple site are well-maintained and spacious, with access to modern facilities including toilets, hot showers and a nifty shared kitchen space for camp cooking. Barbecues and campfires are also welcome if you're up for cooking and eating out of doors.
Quarterland Bay Campsite is about two and a half miles from the villages of Killinchy and Balloo (where there is a pub). Killyleagh Castle's pretty towers are a 10-minute drive away, while the larger town of Downpatrick is 20 minutes away by road.

We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear you found the place quiet and peaceful! We are aware of the issue regarding the shower and toilet facilities and want to reassure that plans are in the place to expand these facilities for next year. We rented a portable loo and placed it on the field where campers were staying to make it possible to have toilet closer to the pitches. This portable loo had to be taken out of use after the 3rd week we were open due to delay in maintenance from the provider. We apologise the effect this had on your camping experience! Sorry to hear you found the walk to the toilet long from the top field. While some people prefer to stay in the top field, we understand that every camper has their own preferences. |

Hi! We thank you for the lovely words regarding our service! We are always trying our best to make everyone enjoy their stay and offer any sort of help day or night!
We apologise that the second toilet was out of use during the last week of our camping season. We had brought it in to prevent any queues forming to the shower/toilet area but due to issues we couldn't prepare for or fix ourselves the toilet had to be taken out of use for the last days! However, plans are in place to have more toilets/showers nect year!
We would love to have you back to our campsite next year :)
