Our glampsite features a range of carefully curated accommodation options to suit different tastes and preferences: Bell Tents, Tent Pitches, and Campervan Pitches. Our bell tents are spacious and thoughtfully furnished, offering a cosy yet stylish place to unwind and settle into the slower pace of outdoor living. Each tent is equipped with comfortable beds, soft linens, and rustic details that blend beautifully with the natural surroundings, offering plenty of space for both romantic getaways and relaxed family adventures. For those who love the simple pleasure of pitching their own tent and waking to birdsong and valley views, our boutique tent pitches offer a back-to-nature escape with a touch of style. Whether you’re a seasoned camper or trying it for the first time, The Hydeaway provides a gentle, welcoming setting to unwind under canvas. Bring your own tent, bedding, and camping gear—or, if you’d rather travel light, we offer hire kits that include a small firepit with starter pack, a gas camping stove, and all the basic cooking and dining essentials. Whether you're touring the island or looking for a few peaceful nights in your home on wheels, our boutique campervan pitches offer the ideal place to pause and reconnect. Nestled along the edge of a sweeping valley, each pitch invites you to enjoy the beauty of nature with just the right amount of comfort and space. Pitch details: Approx. 9m x 4m Each campervan pitch accommodates up to four guests and is designed for self-contained campervans or small motorhomes, offering plenty of space to settle in comfortably while keeping the site open, peaceful, and low-impact. While there’s no electric hookup, power banks can be hired on site to keep your essentials charged — and you’ll find plenty of other thoughtful amenities close by to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Each pitch on the site is thoughtfully positioned to overlook the rolling greenery of our peaceful site, framed by hedgerows and scattered trees that invite wildlife to pass through. In keeping with the glampsite's dedication to sustainability, a range of eco-friendly facilities is available to ensure guests’ comfort without compromising the environment: Two Compost Toilets: Thoughtfully maintained and designed to minimise ecological impact, the compost toilets are clean, odour-free, and user-friendly. Chemical toilet waste disposal point: A convenient facility for campervan users to responsibly manage waste. Hot Shower: A solar-powered shower provides a warm and delightful way to refresh after a day of exploring. Handwashing Facility: Strategically placed handwashing station with biodegradable soap helps maintain hygiene in an eco-conscious way. Washing Up Facilities: A designated area for washing dishes, equipped with eco-friendly detergents and plenty of running water. Power packs for charging phones. Also available on site: Drinking water Car parking Undercover bike storage As part of the experience, we recommend bringing a good torch for evenings under our low-level lighting, along with your own towels and a pair of wellies for exploring the fields, forest paths, and nearby coastal walks—because a little adventure is always part of the charm. The Hydeaway is home to abundant blackberries, sloes, and crab apples, while barn owls and sparrow hawks are frequent visitors. The surrounding valley offers scenic views, with nearby Gurnard village and the coastal town of Cowes just a short walk away. Guests can explore coastal paths, cycling routes, and the ancient woodlands of Parkhurst Forest, rich in diverse birdlife and native flora.

Plass for telt på gressplen , uten strøm

Likte Lovely site a short drive to a food shop etc. The composting toilet was the best I had seen, it was very clean with good clear instructions, well topped up sawdust, unlike other places we have stayed and with a urinal for men to use. Shower, washing up and handwashing facilities are great and close to the pitches.
Owners were lovely and very helpful, When we phoned to ask if we could check in slightly earlier, they were more than happy and came to meet us and give us a tour and spoke to us everyday to see if we were happy or needed anything.

The site is close to a road but it was quiet and you couldn't hear much apart from the occasional tractor, which we didn't mind.

Our stay was nice and peaceful at night and lovely to hear the cows close by in the mornings and evenings.



We were the only guest for the duration of our stay so there was lots of space for our young children to run around without bothering anyone.
Would definitely stay again if returning to the island.

Likte ikke The big open gates onto the road did make a little nervous with Toddlers, but didn't pose an issue to us.

Plass for telt på gressplen , uten strøm

Likte Waking to a warm glowing sun on a an early spring morning is a delight. Our tent was perfect aimed so we could enjoy the sunrise from our beds. Such a pity we could only stay one night!

The Isle of Wight is a haven for outdoor lovers, with miles of walks through Parkhurst Forest (five minutes’ drive), plus seaside hikes and bracing clifftop rambles. Keep an eye out for red squirrels as you go. The wetlands of the National Trust-managed Newtown National Nature Reserve (15 minutes) are home to wading birds and raptors, while you can stroll to 19th-century gun emplacements and dramatic sea views at The Needles Old Battery (half an hour). Osborne (20 minutes) was Queen Victoria’s seaside retreat; today you can tour the grand Italianate palace and spectacular gardens, explore Swiss Cottage – built for the royal offspring – or stroll through peaceful woodland. There’s more IOW heritage to discover at Appuldurcombe House (half an hour), a once-majestic Baroque-era mansion that's now slowly decaying, and Yarmouth Castle (20 minutes), a small Tudor fortress overlooking the Solent. After all that sightseeing, take the weight off your feet on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway as it chugs past farm fields and ancient woodland, stopping off at old-world stations like Havenstreet (25 minutes), where you can browse railway memorabilia and watch engineers at work.
