Walnut Grove Camping

Walnut Grove Camping is a quiet farm site in the scenic Hampshire village of Over Wallop, 10 minutes' drive from Stockbridge and the riverside trails of the Test Valley. The plots available here are in a natural suntrap among the farm's well-kept walnut trees. Dogs are welcome to come and pitch up with you; there are plenty of pet-friendly areas on site for them to run around off the lead while you take in the surrounding scenery. This family-run farm also lets its guests set up barbecues and bonfires. Walnut Grove Camping keeps things simple with its facilities: toilets, showers and recycling pretty much cover it. This scaled-back approach means no distractions from the lovely local landscape; if you need further amenities, you're likely to find what you need in the centre of Over Wallop (15 minutes' walk), where there are two local pubs, a village pub, a recreation ground and a play area for the kids. Further afield, it's an easy half-hour drive to wildlife havens like the New Forest or the edge of the South Downs National Park. The coast is also doable as a day trip, with Lymington marina and Bournemouth beach an hour away by road. Looking to leave the car behind? Head to Grateley train station (2.5 miles) and ride the rails to Salisbury, Andover and beyond.
