While the hillside location may mean a bit of a walk to the lake, it's actually one of the things that makes our site special. The elevated setting is ideal for hikers and walkers, offering access to some stunning trails and views — exactly what the Lake District is all about!

Likte It’s a lovely site - clean, well maintained, good shop and nice little cafe, good playground. Really good pre arrival informal that made arriving and finding our pitch nice and easy.

Likte ikke Downsides - very dark at night with little lighting (I actually prefer this, makes for good starry skies) so bring a decent torch. Only one shower in each block, which isn’t ideal as a family. No firepits allowed at all, which didn’t seem clear and was disappointing.

We’d like to clarify that our site offers a total of 15 showers, 25 toilets and 4 family/accessible shower rooms to accommodate a range of guest needs.
Regarding firepits, we understand the disappointment, but for safety reasons open fires are not permitted anywhere on-site. This policy is clearly stated on signage throughout the park, as well as on our website and booking listings.

Likte I booked this pod as I was taking my 5 year old son on his first camping trip so thought it’d be a good way of introducing him into the outdoors. The pod is well equipped for this with cooking equipment/private shower toilet/bed & TV to keep him entertained in the evening.

Likte ikke From 8pm on our first night the whole pod was plunged into darkness. I got ready and went to reception but on my way there I could see it wasn’t just my pod with no lights, the whole camp site was in darkness. I went back to my pod trusting that it’d be resolved pretty quickly, wrong. We had a cold/dark night in a pod which should’ve had heating & electric. We woke on the Saturday & the power was still out. Packed up by 9am and headed home as we had no confidence it’d be back on for our 2nd night. My stay was during the recent storm, and I know that power cuts happen & are sometimes out of our control, but I do think there should be contingencies in place for when this happens. It’s just a bit disappointing that I had to cut our trip short, especially having paid over £200 to be able to enjoy the pod for a few hours before the power cut.

Likte ikke Only gripe with this site are the showers. Shower block itself is fabulously modern and spotless with plenty of hot water, but the shower itself is the old push button type which you have to push every ten seconds or so which is really annoying.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the showers. You're absolutely right — the shower block is designed to be modern and spotless, and we’re glad that came through. As for the push-button system, we understand it can be a bit frustrating having to press it frequently. The reason we’ve chosen this system is to support our eco-friendly efforts by helping reduce water waste when showers are accidentally left running. That said, we’re always reviewing guest feedback and will certainly take your comments into consideration as we look at future improvements.

Likte The site was quiet and the toilet/showers were very clean and everything worked well. The electrical hookup was easy to connect. The bar is a good facility and also the chippy. However, I was keen to have a pizza which I was able to eat in front of the wood burning stove at the Quiet Site

It sounds like you had a peaceful stay with clean facilities and some great food options. Pizza by the wood-burning stove at the Quiet Site definitely paints a cozy picture! While the lack of a lake view and bath might’ve been a slight letdown, we hope the overall comfort and atmosphere made up for it.

It’s great to hear you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere — a quiet site can make all the difference for a relaxing stay. Sorry to hear about the lack of sunlight on your pitch, though. Tree cover can be lovely for shade, but not so much when you're chasing a bit of sunshine! Hopefully next time you’ll get a sunnier spot to enjoy both the tranquillity and the rays.
