Guess what? If you’re wondering where Sandy Beach Holiday Park might be, all the clues are in the name. This site sits right on the beach (sandy, of course) in Bacton, Norfolk. Indeed, you can take in splendid views of the North Sea from your luxury static caravan. Those watery vistas might look better still from the hot tub on the decking, as you enjoy a relaxing soak. The caravan is tastefully furnished in a contemporary style and comes with a fully equipped kitchen. And ‘fully’ here means exactly that: in addition to standard appliances like gas hob, oven, microwave, toaster and kettle, there is a dishwasher, a coffee machine, a washing machine and a wine cooler – be sure to stock it up ahead of those long hot-tub soaks… Speaking of stocking up the fridge, the nearest shop is less than half a mile away (five minutes’ walk) in Bacton itself; if you’re after a superstore, though, you’ll have to head into Stalham (15 minutes’ drive). Real beds have mattress toppers and protectors, plus a quilt – if that’s not enough to guarantee a comfortable night’s sleep, you can request additional bed linen ahead of your stay. There are TVs in both bedrooms; there’s a TV in the living room, too, but when you’re sitting on the sofa, you might be drawn to a different type of show, namely the seascape outside your window. Just curl up with a nice brew and watch the waves crash to the shore or the sun rise on the horizon.

After a bracing walk along the esplanade at Cromer (25 minutes’ drive), head to the pier, where the Pavilion Theatre has a lively programme of tribute acts and stand-up comedy. In town, the Cromer Museum displays fossils and early 20th-century photographs of local fishermen. The ever-growing grey seal colony at Horsey Gap (half an hour) is a sight to behold – it is believed that as many as 3,000 seal pups are born along this stretch of coast every year. Make your way to the viewing platform on top of the dunes to spy on the seals as they rest on the sand or head into the sea to look for a fishy snack… A 17th-century country house, National Trust - Felbrigg Hall, Gardens & Estate (half an hour) includes elegant spaces such as the Cabinet Room, with art objects collected by owner William Windham during his Grand Tour, plus views over the expansive gardens.
