Ik was blij met Booked last minute, and once we were there we realised how lucky we were to have managed to have the bank holiday weekend at this gem of a site…what a find! Stayed in the sunset lodge which is beautifully presented, clean, cozy and comfortable with everything you need. We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from the lovely owner Tina, who after a nice chat and realising how small the world really is, showed us around the spotlessly clean bathroom and shower unit, and the shared cooking and dish washing area. Her husband Mark soon fallowed to introduce himself. Both very approachable owners with nothing too much trouble if needed as they were close by and just a message away. A Perfect peaceful site with stunning views… especially at sunset! I really didn’t want to share such a positive experience with the fear that it would get too popular 🤣 but Highfield escape deserves this review, and we will be booking again in advance to secure our next visit!

Ik was blij met Just returned from a peaceful and relaxing 3 nights camping lakeside, and what a great time we had. The pitch was flat, well kept, spacious, and right beside a fishing lake that has a forest wrapped around it one side and a lovely meadow on the other. The toilets and shower facilities were kept very clean, which isn't surprising as the lovely helpful campsite owners clearly work hard around the clock making sure the site is maintained and well kept for everyone to enjoy. You get a lovely welcome from the owners, then they leave you be, but are always there if you need them. The site started to get busier as we moved into the bank Holiday weekend, but there was that much space that you weren't on top of each other. Families with excited children ready to explore the forest was nice to see and didn't affect our peaceful stay what so ever. This was our first time here and I'm already planning our next visit. A gem of a campsite in beautiful surroundings 😃
