Ik was blij met Lovely open quiet field. It's very much back to basics with only water, portaloos and I believe showers (although I didn't use them!) Loads of space so nowhere near your neighbours.

Ik was niet blij met This is for information really, not a problem for us. There aren't loads of loos and they don't have handwash (just gel) so note if that's an issue for you. There's no shop or pub in easy walking distance so bring what you need. It's only a short drive to a shop but if you're in a van or motorhome go before you set up!

Van de manager: Sorry to contradict what you say about hand wash - you obviously didn’t try the hand foam in the dispenser and pumped water. So you are not right about that. As for shops well you are coming into the countryside so most of our campers come prepared. We do have a small shop selling drinks, snacks, fruit and veg. Thank you but this isn’t a very constructive review. We respond swiftly when there is something that needs attention. Ps why would you recommend to friends but not come back???

Ik was blij met The location is amazing (pub, shop and beach within 5 minute walk; train station within 15mins). The site was really quiet and clean. The beach is shingle but very clear sea for swimming. The most amazing sunset I've ever seen! The donkeys came right up to our pitch to say hello. The dog went nuts, but they seemed completely un-phased :)

Ik was niet blij met There are only 4 loos and 4 showers in total. To be fair I never queued for either and they were very clean. But the site wasn't full. There is only one small washing up sink with a water heater. I did wait for that, but had a nice chat while I was! It was a shame that neither the site cafe/bar or the village pub was doing food - both started serving on the Thursday we were leaving.

Ik was blij met A lovely little site, with beautiful views, up the back of a terrific pub. If you want to eat in the pub definitely book! Really handy little farm shop/cafe, run off it's feet for breakfast, but so friendly. Everything you need - electric, water, etc. and it's very clean. Only 2 loos, but never an issue. Loads of lovely walks from the site, including kids play area (ours are 8, 11 and 14).

Ik was niet blij met Have to walk through the pub garden for showers, but we went in the AM, so not an issue. If you are bothered by that sort of thing, worth knowing!

Ik was blij met We had a wonderful overnight stay here. Booked very last minute as the weather looked good! Level campervan pitch with 10amp EHU. Toilets clean, useful shop, short walk into the village, friendly pub. Perfect! As we were getting ready to leave, our pop top seized. Jake was incredibly helpful and we managed to find a way to get it down! Thankyou so much!!

Ik was blij met What a beautiful spot! So peaceful. We were lucky enough to be the only people on site and as a mother and 10 year old daughter felt perfectly safe, and she loved running around the field! The toilet is excellent, very clean and easy to use. We were self-contained so had everything we needed.

Ik was niet blij met Nothing. This was perfect for one night away from it all before school started again.

Ik was blij met This is a big site that feels small. Every couple of the small campervan pitches are bordered with tall hedges, giving privacy, and it's laid out along a long drive, so you can't see loads of other people! We were right next to the kids play area, which pleased my youngest, and they made friends. Plenty of clean toilets and showers. A short walk to the beach, which is stony but clean, quiet and very safe to swim in, with a great cafe. If only the sun had shone a bit more! We walked to Ilfracombe on the coast path from Hele beach, which is pretty strenuous uphill and the kids moaned (10 and 13!) but got there and had a lovely day on the harbour. The Hele Bay pub is very close and does lovely food, good beer, and has a really nice feel to it - comfy and friendly.

Ik was blij met What a beautiful site! Just full of little touches to make what is a basic grass field something wonderful. From the pitches being bordered by planters of flowers, to the trampoline the kids were encouraged to use, to the 'signal box' outside the loo! I was expecting a basic toilet (like a portaloo) but it's a lovely little room, with space to wash and get dressed if you need it. Incredibly quiet and peaceful, and much needed after 4 hours on the M5 trying to get home from Devon!

Ik was blij met We were the only camper in the grass field (only staying one night en route to Devon/Cornwall) so we parked at the bottom, next to the orchard. An excellent spot to let the kids and dog run off and explore. The site is very friendly and there are plenty of loos and enough showers as I imagine a lot of the motorhomes have their own facilities. The curry (etc!) place just up the road did us an excellent takeaway to eat in the sunshine and the pub 5 mins away was also great, but we only drank, so no idea about the food.

Ik was blij met The site is extremely friendly and a lovely, big, open space. The toilets are clean and well stocked. We could only admire the view in the morning because the sea mist, rain and wind rolled in the night we were staying! Boscastle is wonderful - ignore the touristy, overpriced Tintagel up the road and visit this beautiful harbour instead. Loved it, and will return to the site hoping for better weather!

Ik was niet blij met Just not enough toilets! Only 3 in the block by reception, so a bit of a wait first thing.

Ik was blij met Only £10 to stay over in the carpark (we don't need EHU). The food in the pub was incredible and the staff couldn't have been friendlier to our children (13,10) and dog. There are toilets all night in the pub. A very beautiful spot for a quick stopover.

Ik was niet blij met The food (whilst amazing) is pretty pricey. We were there for a special occasion, so not an issue. There's also no obligation to eat, or even drink, in the pub if you don't want to.

Ik was blij met Really friendly welcome, without being overbearing. Excellent size and location of pitches. Dog exercise field. Beautiful views. Some of the nicest toilet/shower facilities I've ever used. A great location for walking both the Tissington Trail and Manifold Way if your son injures his foot and can't go up any hills! They were incredibly kind, responsive and efficient when we had to move our booking by 2 days (due to aforementioned injury). Will return (when the weather improves).

Ik was blij met The pub is incredibly friendly. The outside wetroom very clean and can use the pub toilets until closing. The village is lovely too. We bought food from the Co-op (2 minutes walk) if that, but about another 4 pubs available for food if you wanted.

Ik was niet blij met There's only one loo 'out of hours' but we have one in the van so we were OK in an emergency! Nothing major, but the only tiny negative I could see for some people / campers.

Ik was blij met An extremely friendly site, with lovely, helpful staff. Kept very clean. The children roamed about freely, sometimes with the dog! It would have been better for us as a family group of 3 bell tents if the normal and 'deluxe' tents were closer, but it wasn't very far across the field. The bell tent was very clean and comfortable, excellent facilities and warm at night (early May). Beautiful walk along the canal to the pub. Lots to visit nearby. An excellent stay!
