Ik was blij met We made our very first trip to Bowses Hill Farm for a three-night camping stay to coincide with the Blackpool Airshow at the start of August and it’s safe to say this gem of a site has firmly secured a spot on our 'must return' list… again, and again, and again! We pitched up on the main camping field, framed on one side by a pretty wooded area and on the other by a small farm where sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens happily potter about. The children were in their element, feeding the pigs each day and greeting the free-roaming chickens as they strutted past our tent each morning. Tucked into the woods at the back of the field is a brilliant children’s playground, where ours spent endless hours climbing, swinging, and making new friends from all corners of the campsite. One of our favourite touches? Log burners are welcomed here. We brought our own, but you can hire one along with wood, kindling, and all the essentials for an evening campfire. Toasting marshmallows under a starlit sky was magical, made even better by the “magic dust” packets we picked up from the farm. We tossed about 3 on the fire each night, and the flames danced through blues, purples, and greens. The kids were mesmerised. Cars are kept in the main car park once you’ve set up camp, meaning the field stays free of traffic, a thoughtful touch that makes the whole place feel safer and more peaceful for children to run about. Charlotte, the lovely owner, was always close by with a smile and happy to help, whether we needed tips about the local area or advice on campsite facilities. Speaking of which, the toilets, showers, and pot-washing areas were spotless, and the hot water never failed us. We’re already eyeing dates for our next trip, and given we’re just over an hour away, we suspect it won’t be long before we’re back. If you’re after a warm, well-run campsite just 20 minutes from England’s west coast, Bowses Hill Farm is one you won’t want to miss.

Ik was blij met Had the pleasure of staying at Elizabeth Cottage Camping on Saturday night with my two children and what a lovely and welcoming campsite it really is, we will deffo be going back. This campsite is only around the corner from us really, as we are in Hyde, but this felt like we could've been anywhere. There is a small lake next to fields where horses, goats (shoutout to Mo the goat, legend) and geese. Pitch where you want and suitable ground for all camping situations whether that be in tent or tentbox. We bring our own firepit when camping but they do have some here that you can use, and a great communial firepit section in the middle which is super cute. The woods behind are great for finding firewood. We pitched up and drove into Glossop for a few hours before returning, plenty of shops there for buying all you need while camping. Despite a slightly rainy night, we had a great time and we will be sure to be back here a lot more times next year when the camping season returns. Seriously, the owners are amazing and very friendly. Looking to book here, do it!

Ik was blij met We stayed over a weekend towards the end of June 2024 at South View Farm Camping Site in Little Hucklow and what a lovely rustic camping site it really is, one that we will visit again and again that is for sure. As a Dad with two children I was looking for a good family friendly site and this was fantastic just for that. The owner of the site Jade was lovely and attentive at all times during the stay, constantly around for any requests or questions, a great host. Toilets, pot washing, BBQ bricks and also fire-pit rental with logs & kindling available. The views of the hills to the rear of the site are fantastic, with an airfield at the top that you can see gliders and para-gliders throughout the evening. We ventured out one afternoon to Bakewell which is around 15 minutes in the car, a great little village and beautiful river. We are already planning our next stay and look forward to seeing Jade, and their puppy dog again. If you are looking for a peaceful, rustic site then this is perfect for singles, couples and groups. We'll be back very soon!

Ik was blij met I stayed at Haulfryn Caravan Park for three-nights with my young daughter at the end of July 2021 and what a lovely little caravan site it is right next to a farm. The owner of the site, Kirsty, is very attentive and a great source of knowledge on the local area for things to do, especially with children. The facilities are of high standard with great water pressure to both showers and sinks. Plenty of space in facilities with a great washing up area. The site is a mix of seasonal and those staying for a week or so, but it is a lovely site and a great base for exploring anywhere in North Wales really. We will be back!

Ik was blij met Stayed at the Chapel Campsite on Saturday night with my daughter and found the site and owner to be very welcoming. We have a six-man tent and pitched ourselves up upon arrival, plenty of room for tent and car and this was with the campsite nearly full. Facilities are suitable for that of a one or two night stay. As you may read in previous reviews, you are camping next to the FreightLine, which does see a few trains going by and some that start in the early hours of the morning, they do go very slow past as to not cause much disturbance, would suggest ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Would stay again.
