Ik was blij met Lovely, small, quiet campsite. Beautifully clean showers with excellent hot water pressure and spacious cubicles, unlike so many campsite showers these have adjustable height, stay on once turned on and have a fitted door so the floor and your towel don't get wet. Really clean toilets. Love the honesty box shop, good range of products available at a good price. Pitches are massive and nicely separated with wild areas for a nice amount of privacy. Lovely large grassed area in the centre for children to play on. I cannot recommend this campsite highly enough. We stayed as a family with children aged 14, 12, 7, 5 and 10 months and it was absolutely perfect for us. Communal camping kitchen is well equipped and also very clean. We were not able to have fires due to the drought conditions and our pre-booked fire pit was proactively refunded with apologies which really was good of the owners. I was worried about moving our stuff from the car to the pitch but the wheelbarrows supplied are absolutely magnificent and in a range of sizes, my 5 year old was delighted to be able to push stuff about. The wilding of the campsite is also lovely we had a friendly hedgehog who snuffled about our pitch! Lovely location between Saltburn which was a beautiful old fashioned seaside town and Whitby.

Ik was blij met This is a lovely family campsite with enough amenities to make camping with a young family pleasant and easy but enough simplicity to feel like a real campsite not a holiday park. Highlights would be... •the shower blocks. 3 seperate blocks so plenty of showers and toilets. Always immaculately clean and plenty of soap. The cubicles in the newest block were big enough for myself and all 4 children to easily supervise toilet breaks and teeth brushing. They are thoughtfully laid out with plenty of "dry space" for towels and clean clothes and ample hooks. There is also a secret baby room which is beautiful and well equipped with a changing table and baby bath, ask at reception about it as it is not advertised or clearly marked to keep it available for young children. •range of amenities; a well stocked shop, ice pack freezing, laundrette, bricks to rest disposable barbecues on, excellent park and well contained seperate toddler play area and indoor games room. •food vans that visit for takeaway options. The pizza especially was AMAZING! • Friendly, helpful and polite staff team. Very accommodating and kind. • surprisingly easy to get to public transport! The bus stop is a 2 minute walk to get to local towns and beaches so you can definitely have car free days. We really enjoyed our trip to Ilfracombe on The Sunseeker route.

Ik was niet blij met These aren't dislikes as such but maybe advice for others...? • the unallocated tent pitches are up a huge hill from the toilets and on quite a sloping field. If I could change one thing I would have booked an allocated space/electric hook.up space instead to avoid the hill. The views up there are amazing but with a 1 and 3 year old the hill was a bit of a nightmare (although my calf muscles have had a thorough work out!) • again if you have young children the campsite beach is pretty difficult to access. The steps down are incredibly steep and feel quite perilous. The beach is gorgeous and if you are physically fit and don't have to carry a wriggly toddler and coax a terrified 3 year old it would definitely be worth it but it was a terrifying descent and ascent for us.

Ik was blij met The shower, toilet and main kitchen were well equipped and kept very clean. The shower room was a great size for getting all 3 children clean and ready. The free logs were plentiful and we didn’t run out at all. There is plenty of space for children to play in the cabin field and the site is so rural it felt plenty safe enough for the 7 & 5 year old to go to the loo and get ice pops from the freezer alone which they loved. Kevin was super helpful and accommodating and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. It is a rough and ready glamping but was an excellent step up from camping for us to feel secure with the baby.

Ik was niet blij met When you’re feeling lazy the shower and kitchen feel quite far away. The track to the cabins is very bumpy on your car suspension! These are minor niggles though.

Ik was blij met Campsite was as close to the beach as promised. Facilities, whilst basic, were clean and regularly checked. There was an appropriate number for the amount of people staying, never really had to queue. Staff were friendly. The quiet period was respected by all on the site. Country park next door was very convenient for children’s play area and cafe. Loved the fire pits, very good value for money and lovely to have a fire on the campsite, the logs for sale were good value as well.

Ik was niet blij met The ground is hard, as we had seen in other reviews. This isn’t a negative as such but a warning to be prepared with rock pegs! (Although they are sold on site if you do forget!)

Ik was blij met We loved the site, small and beautifully laid out and decorated. The beds were very comfortable and we were plenty warm enough with just the duvets provided. The communal tipi with fire bowl in is fantastic with plenty of seating for a full site but still intimate enough for the 4 of us to feel cosy. I was sceptical when I read we just needed to bring towels, toiletries and clothes but there really was everything else there to use. 5 year olds best bit "the tent and my bed" 3 year olds best bit "the toilet!" (The toilet is a compost toilet which you have to put a scoop of sawdust down, not flush, it's beautiful decorated and doesn't smell bad at all, the 3 year old needed to go a lot!)
