Ik was blij met The site is very peaceful and quiet with a good amount of space between pitches. The facilities are very good. The showers are spacious and new. Everything is nicely laid out. Water, bins, chemical waste are all conveniently placed. The staff are really helpful. We were late arriving but there was no problem.

Ik was niet blij met I don't like the type of push button showers where you have to keep pressing to keep the flow going. However, the water flow was powerful and it was all perfectly adequate.

Ik was blij met Spacious site with lots of room between caravans, and water on the pitch. The washrooms are clean and we never had to queue. The staff are very friendly and helpful, also very efficient. The site is secure with a coded gate. It is very pretty round the canal area with the brightly coloured boats. The pub is very good. We found the location convenient for shops. It was our second visit. We will return.

Ik was niet blij met Nothing to dislike. A bit of a walk from our pitch to the chemical waste but that's all. Trains do pass by all night but it didn't keep us awake.

Ik was blij met Convenient location; very clean facilities; well-organised and easy check in. Really pretty area next to the canal with a pub for strolling to in the evening. The hosts were very friendly and really helpful.

Ik was blij met We liked the location which was convenient for the steam trains. The pitch was level and spacious, and close to the facilities which were very clean. The wifi worked well. Booking was easy, and the owners changed the first set of dates for us with no quibbling. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous.

Ik was niet blij met The hairdryers didn't work, and one of the washroom heaters didn't work either. This didn't matter too much but could be inconvenient.

Ik was blij met The layout of the site was spacious. The utility areas were new, very well-presented and, on arrival, immaculately clean. The arrival was well-organised, the pitch number and key code for the barrier sent well in advance. Other campers were very friendly and welcoming.

Ik was niet blij met The men's toilet in particular deteriorated a little over the bank holiday weekend but it was swiftly dealt with.

Ik was blij met The pitches are spacious and sheltered and have good electrics and own tap. They are level and easy to pitch on. The washrooms are new - plenty of hot water and the showers are excellent. It is hassle free, being unmanned, and good value for money. The location is convenient for the northern broads, and the Woodfordes Brewery pub is a short drive and serves excellent food. It is very peaceful and good for folk who just want the basics. We enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Ik was niet blij met The washrooms are lovely and new but after a couple of days they became rather grubby and obviously weren’t thoroughly cleaned every day.

Ik was blij met A very well laid out and maintained site, with all facilities within easy access. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Security is excellent. The shower blocks, toilets etc are spotless with plentiful hot water. I’ve noticed that some reviewers complained about the road noise, but we got used to it very quickly and it didn’t disturb us at all. The site is very convenient for Colchester and the surrounding area. We were visiting family so it was a great option for us. Our two year old granddaughter came for a night and was made very welcome too. She enjoyed the play park and could run around safely. The other campers were friendly and considerate.

Ik was blij met The layout is very attractive with lots of pretty garden features. The toilet facilities are very clean. The owners and all staff are friendly. It is a very well thought out site with good facilities.

Ik was blij met Good facilities; friendly and helpful staff; well-organised; cleanliness. It was very convenient as a base for seeing the area.

Ik was niet blij met Our pitch was a long way from the washrooms, bins and chemical disposal point. This was a nuisance, particularly as coming back was uphill which was tiring and it was a long way to go at night. It would have been useful, bearing in mind we had a super-pitch, to have a dustbin at our end of the campsite. Also, the pitch we were given was at the top end of the site with only a hedge separating us from the very noisy main road, the A35. This disturbed us constantly as the traffic only petered out for a couple of hours in the very middle of the night. Ear plugs had no impact. On one rainy day our pitch became quite waterlogged. The soakaway drain overflowed too. In the men’s washroom there were only three sinks, none of them private.

Ik was blij met Layout very spacious; good washroom facilities etc; nice beach though view of Sizewell B rather a blot on the landscape; reasonable price; good central location with Lewiston nearby.

Ik was niet blij met Noisy in the evenings particularly people playing ball games. A notice forbids this but was ignored. Not good to have the reception some way off site. Rubbish needs clearing more regularly and recycling should be next to rubbish bins.
