Ik was blij met Declan and Sara were very welcoming, showing us around the site and facilities. The views east towards Dartmoor are stunning, especially on the 2 clear sunny days we had. We brought our own fire pit which Declan kindly let us use, having promised to protect the grass, which we did. Beech hedges provide good protection from the wind. Only a few other campers on site, so we had the facilities to ourselves. A good starting off point for a lovely 2hr walk to Cotehele (stunning National Trust house, garden, quay and mill) via Calstock.

Ik was niet blij met Unfortunately, the site is wedged between two quite busy roads which are a bit of a racetrack, and subsequently noisy. The shower/toilet block is quite small, and I can imagine would hardly be adequate if the site were full. There are radiators, which were unfortunately not on, except for our first morning when we met Declan who put them on for us. After another very cold frosty night, the radiators were not on, so we did not use the showers that morning.

Ik was blij met Unaware there was a campsite in South Pool (where we were married 42 yrs ago!) we absolutely fell for this place, on a perfect autumn evening. A warm welcome from Paul the farmer, we had the whole hilltop field to ourselves, with wonderful views of Salcombe, twinkling in the distance after a stunning sunset. Immaculate composting toilet, good hot shower, and washroom. At the moment the facilities are fine for a handful of campers, but the site has only been open since August, when Paul's daughter's wedding party guests camped there, and she suggested starting up a small campsite. Paul was happy for us to use our fire pit for the chilly clear starlit evening. In summary, our ideal campsite. Enjoy it now before it gets bigger!
