Nature, serenity and scenic views are all on the menu at Hadley Lake – but so are fuss-free trips into the city for supplies. And that’s because this Oklahoma resort has a particularly enviable location on the banks of Hadley Lake, just outside the city limits of Stillwater. It's all about the peaceful times at this place – once you've set up camp, you'll be able to take a walk along the lakeside path for a good dose of fresh air or settle down by the water for a day of catch-and-release fishing. And of course, there's also the option of simply sitting down and doing very little other than soaking up the sights, sounds and scents of the nature all around you… To preserve that fabulous environment, this park is fairly simple in style – facilities stretch to wifi and a chemical disposal point, but please note there are no toilets or showers for guest use. It’s a very friendly place, though, with a family atmosphere where campfires are encouraged and dogs are welcome. And although it's probably that rural vibe you've come here for, it’s likely there will be times when you'll be delighted to find the city is handily close by. Being only a 10-minute drive from the city centre means it’s nice and straightforward to get to one of several grocery stores, and plenty of places to eat are within easy reach (both major chains and local places).
