Thanks to its lofty position, there are spectacular views from the accommodation – each with its own private terrace – and if you catch a clear evening, you can also watch the stunning sunsets. Thanks to the lack of light pollution in the area, the celestial displays are pretty special too.
Dogs are welcome to join you at Mira Domos, where facilities include cycle hire if you fancy getting out into the wild Castilian landscapes, and canoe rental for paddling downstream in the Lobos River Canyon Natural Park (25 minutes). You can also borrow barbecues for night-time feasts while enjoying the dark skies, and there’s an honesty corner from which you can pick up wines, beers and snacks.
If you want to introduce an extra layer of luxury into your stay, a daily continental breakfast is on offer (subject to availability), or you can surprise your partner on arrival by adding a romantic gift of artisan chocolates and local wines to your booking.

From Mira Domos, you can easily take a look around El Burgo de Osma (10 minutes’ drive), a historic town on the Ucero River with plenty of medieval buildings interspersed with atmospheric cafés, bars and restaurants. Check out the ornate Catedral de El Burgo de Osma and then engage in some serious coffee drinking and food sampling at your leisure.
Hilltop Castillo de Osma (15 minutes) has a Roman bridge and a castle with its origins in the 10th century to explore. You might want to drive 45 minutes to the city of Soria, liberally stuffed with Romanesque architecture and medieval sites, or head for San Esteban de Gormaz (20 minutes) to discover its old town backed by an impressive crag topped with castle ruins.
If you’d rather be out in nature, head out into Lobos River Canyon Natural Park (25 minutes), a dramatic region for hiking waymarked trails, canoeing on the Lobos and birdwatching activities – griffon vultures, eagles and falcons are all frequent visitors.
