Mira Domos

From Mira Domos, you can easily take a look around El Burgo de Osma (10 minutes’ drive), a historic town on the Ucero River with plenty of medieval buildings interspersed with atmospheric cafés, bars and restaurants. Check out the ornate Catedral de El Burgo de Osma and then engage in some serious coffee drinking and food sampling at your leisure. Hilltop Castillo de Osma (15 minutes) has a Roman bridge and a castle with its origins in the 10th century to explore. You might want to drive 45 minutes to the city of Soria, liberally stuffed with Romanesque architecture and medieval sites, or head for San Esteban de Gormaz (20 minutes) to discover its old town backed by an impressive crag topped with castle ruins. If you’d rather be out in nature, head out into Lobos River Canyon Natural Park (25 minutes), a dramatic region for hiking waymarked trails, canoeing on the Lobos and birdwatching activities – griffon vultures, eagles and falcons are all frequent visitors.
