The word ‘agriglamping’ is a promising one, isn’t it? It suggests that you’ll be able to immerse yourselves in nature and local culture while also enjoying a fair bit of comfort. And indeed that’s exactly what’s on offer for guests at Agriglamping ValleVerna, a small site tucked away in the hills of Lazio. This is a hugely peaceful and scenic location, with lots of green space to relax in and gorgeous views over nearby Lake Bolsena. It’s a place where you can really slow down for a little while, maybe reading a book in one of the hammocks, taking a dip in the outdoor pool or settling on a poolside lounger to admire the views. Later on, perhaps it’s time for sunset drinks on the sofas in the outdoor lounge or an alfresco dinner cooked up at the barbecue area. There’s also the option of chilling out in and around your accommodation – stays here are in spacious safari tents, each of which has its own fully equipped kitchen, dining table and Smart TV as well as comfy beds and an ensuite shower room. Outside, you’ll have a large veranda with furniture from which you can soak up the views and enjoy the fresh air. It may well be tempting to stay holed up here for the majority of your stay, but it’s well worth getting out for a while – this is a super area to explore, with lots of scenic walks and medieval villages to visit. If you like, you can hire e-bikes on site – at the very least they’ll be handy for nipping into Valentano (two kilometres away) for shops and cafés or over to the beach at Lake Bolsena (six kilometres).

  • Honden moeten getatoeëerd of gechipt zijn.
  • Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan (zoals de pitbullterriër, tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro). Ook de volgende rassen zijn niet welkom: de staffordshire-bulterriër, Amerikaanse staffordshireterriër, rottweiler en mastiff.
  • De camping staat alleen kleine honden toe, met een gewicht tot 15 kilo.
  • Minstens één lid van het gezelschap dient 18 of ouder te zijn.
  • Geen gasbarbecues toegestaan.

Nearby Valentano (two minutes’ drive) is a good place to start – particularly as the site has organised free entry to the village’s Museo della Preistoria della Tuscia e della Rocca Farnese. After that, you may like to spend a bit of time at Lake Bolsena, perhaps taking a dip from Spiaggia di Cavajano (10 minutes) or heading to Capodimonte for a boat trip to the lake’s islands (both 10 minutes away). For more rural time, stroll and swim at Lake Mezzano (20 minutes), take a walk around the ruined Roman-Etruscan city of Vulci (half an hour) or have a soothing soak in the warm waters of Terme di Saturnia (50 minutes). Urban time might take you to the medieval city of Viterbo (35 minutes), the sweet hilltop village of Civita di Bagnoregio (45 minutes) or Capalbio (55 minutes), close to the Tyrrhenian coast. And if you don’t mind a longer drive, you could even try a day trip to Rome (two hours).
