Top up your tan on the sands or try your hand at surfing off Plage du Pré-Vincent (20 minutes’ walk), the only supervised beach in Moutiers-en-Retz, or grab your bike and head to La Bernerie-en-Retz beaches (15 minutes’ bike ride) to go fishing for oysters, clams and prawns. Family outings in Loire-Atlantique could include Planète Sauvage animal park (25 minutes’ drive) for the chance to see elephants and rhinos on the safari trail, or zookeeper days for younger kids in Legendia Parc (also 25 minutes), where you can all get up close to wolves.
