Would you like to evade life's little stresses in peaceful and green French surroundings? Meander towards Camping l'Evasion in the Hérault river valley, easily reached from the A75 and only 12km from both Pézenas and Clermont-L’Hérault. Run by Séverine and Sylvain, Camping l’Évasion is a quiet and serene site, surrounded by nature, set in one of the sunniest regions in France (always a bonus for eluding stress on hol) and in a region well set for active hols, relaxed breaks and family activities. Et naturally, there are vineyards all over the region too… The campsite has a pool open every day from May to September, a restaurant, and a grocery shop for picking up essentials. Reception is open daily for help and queries. The amenities block includes a laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer, available for guests' use for a small extra charge. Within walking distance is the quiet village of Fontès, also handy for eluding any little stresses on hol: shops, a bakery, a butcher, a hair salon, a doctor and a pharmacy are all here. The main business of the commune of Fontès is vine growing, so do pick up une bottle or two when you're in town too.

From Narbonne: take the A9 to Béziers then the A75 north. Exit at Junciton 58, take the D128 north, then take the D174 to Fontès. From Fontès take the D124 north and you will see the campsite signposted to your left as you exit the village. From Clermont-Ferrand: take the A75 south and exit at Junction 58. Take the D128 north, then take the D174 to Fontès. From Fontès take the D124 north and you will see the campsite signposted to your left as you exit the village.

Land and sea join in the Languedoc-Roussillon region around Fontès and Camping l'Evasion, giving a good range of outdoorsy and activity-based days out in the region: walking, hill climbing and watersports are all popular around these parts. The site owners' recommended places to visit in the region include the lagoon of the Étang de Thau; the local stretch of the 241-kilometre Canal du Midi; the mountain (and wines) of Pic Saint-Loup, and the limestone cave of the Grotte des Demoiselles. The beaches of Mèze, Vias and Cap d’Agde are about 30km away.
