Ik was niet blij met Found that closing the loo at 9 a bit difficult, compost loo a bit of a walk. But I’m still very happy with the stay and the clue is in the name ; wild camping ☺️

Ik was blij met Lovely peaceful area and site. The animals were fun to look at and the owners were really welcoming. Spacious area for camping, lovely sunsets. Would deffo return but would have been useful to have a more realistic view before arriving for our autistic children (hence the detailed ‘disliked’ section) good phone signal which is useful for making plans. Good communication before hand, which was nice, and were told about shower not working on arrival.

Ik was niet blij met Only bottled water provided, no taps etc, which felt awkward at times, felt bad for inconveniencing them! Toilet open during the day (except when they go out) and the alternative toilet (composting) was in a field with sheep and was a fairly scary experience for the children- felt like a bucket in a homemade shack! No rubbish disposal at all, which was hard with how much plastic waste we were creating from the water bottles! Also no ELSAN.

At no point have we claimed to be anything other than a back to basics farm stay. I would ask that guests are fully aware of this when making a booking. Regards ESLAN - I am a special needs trained ALN Classroom Teacher and so if I am aware in advance of guests with children who may find challenges being on the farm I am more than willing to help.

Ik was niet blij met We stayed in a tent and overall was okay.

However, I would recommend it more for adults than for families with young children. The indoor toilet facilities close at 9:00 PM, and after that only the outdoor portable toilet at the back of the campsite is available. Unfortunately, this was quite inconvenient for my children and made our stay more challenging.
As a parent, I found myself constantly worrying that my children might need to use the toilet during the night, which affected our ability to fully relax and enjoy the experience.

At no point are we advertising anything else. I would encourage guests to read very carefully what they can expect both on the website and in our Welcome Pack as all of this is explained. We make every effort to provide as many services which go beyond the 'wild camping' agenda as we can but guests should remember that these are provided purely at the discretion of the owners however do not reflect those found on commercial sites which operate 24/7.

Ik was blij met Ffynnonwen Farm Wild Camping – A Hidden Gem in the Welsh Countryside!

What an absolute find! For just £16 a night (up to 5 people and 2 dogs), this place is unbeatable. You get to have campfires under the stars (they even give you a fire pit for free and sell 20kg of wood for just £3.50 🪵), plus you can buy home-grown tomatoes 🍅 and fresh eggs straight from the farm – it doesn’t get more authentic than that!

Only about 30 minutes from Aberystwyth (yep, that’s how you spell it 😉), this spot is surrounded by endless countryside walks. The owners, Mark and his lovely wife, are some of the most welcoming people you’ll ever meet – they really make you feel at home here.

If you’re into astro-photography or just love a breathtaking night sky, this place will blow you away. With no city lights around, the stars practically glow above you.

The farm itself is full of character – chickens roaming freely, friendly farm dogs, and even a pen of geese with big personalities (watch your toes – even the owners laugh about how feisty they are!).

Facilities are simple but spot-on – there’s a shared bathroom, and showers are just £1.50. Honestly, for the price, setting, and atmosphere, you couldn’t ask for more.

Ffynnonwen Farm Wild Camping is a proper countryside escape – peaceful, welcoming, and full of charm. If you’re looking for a special place to stay in Wales, this is it. Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ik was niet blij met The only thing i can add to this was the first day we arrived the shower was out of order due to a water shortage but this was completely out of their control but had a bowser turning up and they had it back up and running the following morning honestly beautiful place to stay and the shower pressure is a little poor but its from a bowser and for 1.50 you can’t complain it does everything you neet it too 🙂

Ik was blij met The owner mark was so accommodating. I was running hours late and he was still happy to meet me at 9pm, explain everything and show me around.
They also sell fresh eggs for only £1 per half-dozen.

Ik was niet blij met nothing - exactly what I expected.
What I would say to people though after reading the very few poor reviews is to understand that this is a wild camping site. Don’t expect amenities, although the owners are kind enough to offer them during waking hours

We arrived a day earlier than expected and were greeted on arrival by mark who was very friendly he showed us where everything was and told us about all the animals they keep on the farm.
Lovely quiet camp with the usual working farm sounds.
Good value for money.
