What a well named site this is. For Rocombe Valley Retreat near Newton Abbot in Devon is indeed in a valley, and is a peaceful bolthole from bosses and the like: it's highly likely that work wouldn't find you, were you to settle down here for a matter of weeks… The retreat is also splendidly well set in its Devon locale, with glamping units in a field beside a stream and three mighty pretty lakes, all a couple of miles from Devon beaches and a piffling 10-minute drive from Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Torbay. The nearest pub, serving food and ales, is a 15-minute walk away, and four more pubs and restaurants are within a five-minute drive. All Rocombe Valley accommodation comes fully equipped with cooking equipment, cosy double beds with all bedding supplied, and woodburning stoves using wood coppiced from trees on the farm. Flushing toilets and hot showers are within easy reach in the farm amenities blocks. There's parking on site for several cars and coarse fishing is available on the lakes adjacent to the valley.

Ik was blij met Awesome spot. Friendly owner, beautiful scenery, clear instructions, and great communal facuilities. The area was also really clean!

Super stay, gorgeous location, we loved the local beach!

Ik was blij met Everything! We had a great time. We loved the hot tub, the yurt was well furnished and cosy and we had fun cooking outdoors.

Ik was niet blij met Nettles, all over the place, unfortunately my son fell into them so removing them would make it completely safe for kids to roam.

Lovely staff and good facilities in a nice area

Ik was blij met Lovely place, could do with a little more insulation in the yurts as it was still cold even with the fire. We did go spring though and so in the warmer weather wouldnt be an issue

Ik was blij met The yurt was beautiful and homey. We had everything we needed and were welcomed with a smile. The grounds were stunning. It really did feel like a peaceful escape! We will definitely return.

We had a lovely stay and would recommend.

Ik was blij met The facilities were well thought out and clean. Privacy. Well run and catered to.

Ik was niet blij met The hot tub took a long time to heat up, and used alot more kindling/firewood than we anticipated meaning we needed to purchase more.

Definitely going to book again, friendly and brilliant private pitch

Ik was blij met The communal area was great and had everything you need to cook a full meal and feed a family of 5 with plenty of seating areas, the hot tub was fantastic and there was always a supply of logs available (apart from once and it took less than 30 mins for them to be delivered to our yurt)
Couldn’t have been any better, very welcoming and great location.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

As it's Devon and as it's near the coast, you'll probably already know that this is lovely locale… There's loads to do within a few miles or a short drive and if you want to go a bit further, Cornwall's Eden Project can be reached in a couple of hours. Dartmoor is half an hour's drive away. Rocombe Valley Retreat is also a couple of miles from beaches with watersports and fishing, as well as the dog-friendly beach at the Ness in Shaldon (tell your canine to reach it via the smugglers' tunnel). Even closer to home, many a lane and track for walking or mountain biking snakes around the Rocombe Valley. If you're up for exploring by car, among the many attractions within easy driving distance are Paignton Zoo, Kents Cavern, Babbacombe Model Village, Woodlands near Dartmouth, Crealy Park near Exeter, Haldon Forest and Go Ape, Shaldon Zoo and Brixham Fish Market.
