Girt Down Farm

Ik was blij met Perfect View, great facilities (clean toilets, warm shower, fridge, freezer, washing up area). Very helpful and friendly staff. Would happily come back. A good amount of space for the number or people pitching up. Peaceful and can park car/van next to tent.

Ik was niet blij met It was windy (but so worth it for the view).

Ik was blij met The view was absolutely gorgeous! We loved the walk to the Hangman hills, which was very do-able from the site. Was close n easy to get to Combe Martin, Ilfracombe, etc, but felt quiet and peaceful. Just the sound of sheep on the hills, skylarks and kids playing! Facilities were clean n well tended, great to have a fridge/freezer to use. Friendly owners.

Ik was niet blij met The site is very exposed in really windy weather - nothing blocking the beautiful view also meant nothing blocking the wind! So perhaps consider taking sturdy windbreaks if strong winds are forecast! All adds to the adventure!

Ik was blij met The view is absolutely amazing. The best facilities I have seen as well. Shower, toilets and washing up area - spot on.

Ik was niet blij met The pitch is a bit hilly and to get to the farm there is quite a hill to climb as well. Worth though for that view.

Ik was blij met Really pleasant stay, extremely clean facilities and a warm welcome from the hosts. Great location and the dog had the time of his life!

Ik was blij met Loved this site. Quiet with lots of space, amazing views, clean facilities, with friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely be back.

Ik was blij met Beautiful views, homemade pizza was a lovely touch, nice and quite- not over crowded, could choose where to pitch up, local shops and pubs near by, surrounded by nature.

Ik was niet blij met Was quite windy due to being high up. One night the hot water wasn’t working so had a cold shower, was quite a walk up hill on the way back from the showers.

Ik was blij met Fantastic views- the best in the area I’m sure- and so convenient for the South Coast path.
Close enough to Combe Martin to walk down in to town, although the walk back up is a killer.

Saturday night “Pizza Night” absolutely worth it- some of the best pizza you could wish for, and delivered to your tent.
Wonderful staff, immaculate cleanliness in shower/toilet block (and an adequate portaloo in the top of the field) as well as a small enclosed communal area for drying out/ fridge facilities.

Ik was niet blij met So glad we chose Girt Farm rather than other nearby alternatives, although it is a very exposed site with a Westerly breeze.
If it was going to be bad weather we would choose a more secluded site.

Not easy to find a flat area, and when busy could probably benefit from another shower block.
Would be nice if the washing up area had a roof.
