Westland Farm

Ik was blij met Lovely views & beautiful sky at night. Very relaxed campsite. Nice walk to the reservoir via the fields. We also walked to the Fox & Goose at Parrocombe....this did involve a short walk along a very busy road with no pavement.

Ik was blij met Really friendly environment, the shower and laundry room was very clean and constantly cleaned during the day.
You could choose where you wanted to pitch your tent instead of being issued a spot.

My boys loved the animals and collecting eggs.
The location is very close to a lot of day trip places such as the wildlife and dinosaurs at coombe Martin.

Ik was niet blij met The owner decided to now the grass in the evening when all his guests were at the site.
The neighbours were driving around in their cars (multiple) on the site.
Its near a road.
There's barely any piece level.

Van de manager: I'm so sorry it seems you did not have a very nice one night stay with us, your experience seems to be very different to all our other guests.
Just to be clear;
We very clearly state that we are a working farm, part of that involved making hay for winter sheep and cattle feed, mowing the grass is part of the process of haymaking. We only mow each field once a year, when the weather is right for making hay, we do not do this near the camping field during unsociable hours, and are not constantly mowing, far from it. Most of our guests enjoy watching the process if they are lucky enough to be here at the time, and sometimes get involved.
As for your other comments, we do allow guest to drive to their pitches and keep their cars next to their pitch, however all our guests are very conscientious and do not drive around mindlessly, we have a lot of children on site and so joy riding around the site is not allowed.
We have two camping fields, one of which is on a slope, but had level spots available, being on a slope allows beautiful views down to Wistlandpound Reservoir and the surrounding farmland. The other field is level, but as a result of this the views are not so good. There is plenty of room and guests are able to make their own choice.
We are near a road, which makes easy access, but the camping field is a good distance away. If you were unhappy with your stay, had you approached us and let us know, we would have tried to make things right for you. It's sad when guest are unhappy with their stay but do not let us know.

Ik was blij met Stayed for one night, very warm and friendly welcome. Facilities superb, lovely shower and toilet block along with washing up area and fresh water around the camping field.

Laundry looked excellent for those staying a little longer. Perfect base for north Devon.

A peaceful relaxing place and wouldn’t hesitate to book again when I am next in the area.

Ik was blij met The whole site. Lovely views, peace and quiet. It was great to be on a working farm, my 5 year old loved the animals. Nicky the host was super, she showed us around and made us feel very welcome. Absolutely loved the shower block, spacious family showers, great attention to detail, which are ideal when you have young kids. Heated towel rails in the morning certainly took the chill off. Eggs straight from the hens. Spacious fridge and freezer, good washing up facilities and everything was very clean and comfortable. We were so happy.

Ik was blij met Such a lovely warm and friendly welcome! Lovely and peaceful setting. My 2 children (12 & 7) loved the space to run around and seeing the animals. Wonderful toilet/shower block. Only stayed 1 night but will definitely go back again when we are next that way!

Ik was blij met Views to die for! This site is simple but with convenient amenities - large fridge & freezer, washing points overlooking the pigs, charging points, washer & dryer, clean & well maintained toilets & showers (we never had to queue even in high season).

It’s worth noting there is a slope on the field, some may see this as a downside however we really liked it, as where it’s flat to pitch, it means you get undisturbed views of the beautiful fields. Plus lots of room for the kids to play.

My eldest loved tending to the pigs and chickens every day. Location wise everything you could need or want to visit is only a short drive away. We will be back next year!

Ik was blij met Nice, clean toilets and showers. Plenty of water points around site. Welcoming and friendly hosts. You can help yourself to lovely free-range eggs (I had a double yolker!) and feed the farm pigs. Plenty of space to setup and for kids to run around. Only thing to bear in mind is that you might not get a space that's levelled as the field is on a slight slope. Overall a great site and will definitely be coming back.
