Located in a half-acre field with great views over open countryside, Collacott Camping is a peaceful farm campsite close to the north Devon coast. Situated just off the A39, this site is about a mile and a half from the village of Fremington, where local amenities include a small supermarket, a fish and chip shop, a Chinese takeaway, two pubs and access to the Tarka Trail, a 180-mile route for cyclists and hikers. With a small number of pitches available, there'll be plenty of space at this roomy farm site, which has far-reaching views over the local countryside and is a good vantage point for spectacular West Country sunsets. Portaloo toilet facilities are provided, and while Collacott Camping is a dog-free zone, it does allow carefully managed barbecues (off the ground, please). Lots of excellent family-friendly attractions are easy to reach nearby, including kid-pleasing options like The Big Sheep, an adventure park (20 minutes), and more sedate spots like the Royal North Devon Golf Club (also 20 minutes). Whether you're planning a fun-filled, laidback or active break, this site certainly has plenty of top choices close by.
