For a proper Cornwall countryside experience, how about a stay in a peaceful field surrounded by 20 acres of farmland? In The Pyramid Tent’s quiet field you’ll share your space with only one other group of guests… oh, and a flock of chickens in an enclosed run. The rural surroundings here are rather fab, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll be stranded far away from all the trappings of modern life – the site is actually just on the edge of Camelford, so it’s only about a five-minute walk to get to a pub, a takeaway or a shop for food supplies. That last is particularly handy, as there’s a firepit/barbecue provided for each tent – although you can also make life even easier by requesting a barbecue pack of local produce for your stay (and continental breakfast packs, too). Along with that proximity to Camelford comes handy access to the A39, which you can use to get out to more far-flung corners of Cornwall (including the likes of Bude and Padstow, which are both within a half-hour drive). A little closer to home are Tintagel Castle, Trebarwith beach and walks on the South West Coast Path or the trails of Bodmin Moor (all yours for the taking within 15 minutes’ drive). Back at base, each unit has been well kitted out with beds made up, a sole-use bathroom and a kitchen area (with fridge, cooker, kettle, toaster and microwave plus all the associated bits and bobs). There’s also a dining table for each one, plus plenty of space to lounge about inside or out in the fresh air.
