All set for a little south coast escape? Head to Hampshire’s Hurst View Glamping for a sweet stay in a bell tent with views towards the Isle of Wight and lots of great walks all around. How you choose to interpret that is up to you – this site is within the New Forest National Park, so walking might mean long trails around woodland and heathland, looking out for wild ponies and deer along the way and stopping by in traditional villages. Then again, it might just mean strolling to the sea wall or taking the 15-minute walk to the local pub for a meal or a pint. The town of Lymington is within walking distance too – it’s about 25 minutes away for restaurants, pubs and shops, or you could take a detour via the coastal route (which is longer but has gorgeous views that make the extra effort worth it). Lymington Pier (10 minutes’ drive) is also the boarding point for ferries to the Isle of Wight should you fancy a day trip over there. Back on site, you’ll be staying in a sturdy bell tent that’s been given simple furnishings like camp beds, leaving you to supply the rest of the kit. Outside, a picnic table and firepit/barbecue should help you sort out some alfresco meals and drinks; there’s a shop on site to supply logs if you need them. Other shared facilities include a play area, a launderette and bathrooms with toilets and showers. There's also a café on site that's generally open mornings and evenings during the school holidays and just weekends throughout the rest of the summer season.

Deze camping ligt ideaal nabij strand en stad, met boottocht naar Weymouth. Glampingtenten waren schoon en comfortabel, met fijne shop en café. Wel klachten over 'vrijspel', geluidsoverlast en verouderde toiletten/douches. De ene vond ze schoon, de ander onbruikbaar. Manager belooft verbeteringen, recentere reviews zijn positiever.

Ik was blij met Great location, plenty of space, budget friendly, we choose the bell tent as we were just passing by, great option if you don’t have camping gear or time to pitch. (also a bonus that you can sleep on a bed)

Ik was niet blij met Facilities were a definite negative, and a room for improvement.

Ik was blij met An excellent stay. Wasn’t sure whether to book or not after reading the mixed review, but we had a fantastic experience. The bell tent was clean, beds comfortable, check in was super easy, showers and toilets were much cleaner than other campsites and there was a fun but friendly feel to the site. Would book again.

Ik was blij met Nothing

Ik was niet blij met Noisey through to late at night. Full of drunk thugs with 0 control of their children and teenagers letting them run riot until 3am +. Had footballs being kicked at my tent frightening myself and my young children and when I asked them to stop threatened to burn me down in my sleep, called the office and they couldn’t be less bothered if they tried. I have been holidaying alone with my children for 9yrs and this is the first time I have ever felt unsafe. Toilets and showers were so dirty they were unusable. I wouldn’t return if you paid me.

Ik was blij met The cafe / shop served some lovely bacon rolls, Location is perfect, close to a beach and town,The boat to Weymouth is a must and again a 40min walk away.

Ik was niet blij met The campsite is massive and seems to be a free for all with tents and campers all together,No rhyme or reason you just set-up wherever,no WiFi that we could find. The shower block for the men and women are only 8 toilets serving hundreds and they are very dated with old shower curtains etc.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Lovely Lymington (five minutes’ drive/25 minutes on foot) is a local favourite for its Georgian high street lined with indie shops, plus its boat trips and seawater swimming pool. Milford on Sea (10 minutes’ drive) is also close by, and it’s the start point for the walk out to Hurst Castle, an imposing fortress on a sea spit. For a good nature walk, head to Keyhaven Marshes (half an hour's walk) or pick a route in the New Forest National Park – Brockenhurst (15 minutes’ drive) is a good starting point, with bike hire for those who’d like to tour on two wheels. The New Forest is full of other attractions too, from the animals of the New Forest Wildlife Park or Liberty's Owl, Raptor & Reptile Centre (both half an hour) to the gleaming vehicles of the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu (20 minutes). The New Forest Water Park (40 minutes) is popular with older kids, while younger ones may well demand a day at Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World (half an hour).
