Chester Charm Retreats

Ik was blij met Great location to Chester. Nice peaceful field. Spoke to land owner who was friendly.

Ik was niet blij met Where do we start?!!! Very poor signage, drove past 3 times and in the end had to phone the contact given. We booked the site which had a 'toilet and shower 'and when we arrived the toilet was a bucket with a bin bag inside which wasn't charged from when we arrived on Friday to when we left Sunday. There was no way of locking the door from inside and the shed the toilet was in had panels missing so if using the toilet you were on show to everyone. As for the shower, it didn't work, we had to mess around with taps, dials and the gas supply for hours and when we did finally get it to work it was barely a trickle and temperature was either freezing cold or scorching hot, no inbetween. There were no instructions on how to regulate this. Simple signage to the site would also be useful especially when there are no easy places to keep on turning around. However the site does have potential if money was invested in it.

Ik was niet blij met Absolutely horrendous, we could not find it, the ground was that bad it ripped off my exhaust, the dirt track it was hidden behind was in a field were were could not open the gate and was shady as anything, it looked
Like a place we were going to get Robbed. After talking to somebody she wasn’t any help, and when I canceled within an hour of booking they still insisted on taking the deposit. Discussing my van is damaged with absolutely no correspondence from them. DO NOT USE!!!

Van de manager: It appears that you have overlooked our site and its images. The guest was unable to operate her own vehicle and struggled to follow basic instructions, even while I was on the phone with her. However, most of our guests who genuinely visit the site have a wonderful experience. She had paid for a pitch that we had available.The damage to her car was her driving errors. We have large vans and lorries accessing the yard without any issues.We are committed to supporting our guests.

Ik was niet blij met No signs had to call to get directions. Only saw owner once when we reported that there was no water.
This is basically a field with Porta loo and potashower in corner. Have no idea where launderette or dishwashing facilities were. As for the yoga and walking barefoot in grass - the grass is so long and ground uneven you’d be more likely to break your ankle! The write up for this place is very misleading.

Van de manager: Thank you for your review. We apologise for the misunderstanding regarding our description of our accommodation., which may not have been clear for those renting a pitch. We stated that the site is self service unless we are hosting retreats, yoga or meditation sessions. You paid £20 for a pitch in Chester with toilet and shower, and that is what you receive. Our laundry service is available on request . Our grass is professionally maintained every two weeks. Every other service and facility was for caravan and Yurt. We are sorry for the misunderstanding. We are new and will amend description and facilities accordingly. ,

Ik was blij met A real gem of a find. Lovely little field, nice and flat, well kept and clean.
Toilet and shower both spotless.
Firepits and wood allowed and avaliable to use if you don't have your own.

Shower trick...
If no hot water turn shower on, then follow the fence along till the gap and turn on the hose pipe. The shower will be lovely and warm.
Turn off when done.

The Owner is really, really lovely. Very welcoming and kind.

We're booking again in a few weeks time!

Ik was niet blij met Drive past 3 times as no camping sign, just one for the equestrian business.
Nothing to dislike about the site its self
