Glorious Glamping

For a break from non-stop partying, Harewood House (15 minutes’ drive) has a network of footpaths across the estate as well as guided tours of decorative-arts treasure in the house itself. There are lovely wooded walks in Otley Chevin Forest Park (five minutes), or you can blow any lingering cobwebs away with a hike up to Almscliffe Crag (10 minutes, you can see it from the glamping site) for views across the Yorkshire Dales. To explore the Dales themselves, head to the spectacular ruins of Bolton Abbey and take the stepping stones across the River Wharfe. Neary you can jump on the steam train at Bolton Abbey Station (both half an hour) and chug slowly through green landscapes to the soft-stone village of Embsay. If you’re after a change of scenery in the evening, there are several welcoming pubs in Pool in Wharfedale (five minutes) and destination restaurants in Harrogate (20 minutes) as well as late-night clubs at the weekend.
