Well, this is a sweet spot for a break close to the East Yorkshire coast – Strawberry Fields Holiday Park is less than 10 minutes’ walk from Driffield beach, a long sandy stretch where you can take a good lengthy walk, go fishing or let the kids run about and let off steam (and it's dog friendly too, so the whole family can enjoy the experience…) And although the beach is a huge draw, it’s not the only thing this small family-run park has going for it on the location front as the village of Skipsea is also about 10 minutes’ walk away for a pub (with a good range of meals and snacks as well as drinks) and a well-stocked village shop. A café and ice cream parlour are also a few minutes’ walk away for sweet treats during your stay. Facilities on site include picnic tables, a washing-up area and modern bathrooms with accessible facilities and a parent and baby room. It’s all overseen by the family that run the place, who take great pride in making sure everything is clean and comfortable for their guests. All in all, this park makes a great base for an East Yorkshire break, mixing up seaside days (either here or in nearby Hornsea and Bridlington) with city strolls in Hull or rural wanders around the Yorkshire Wolds.

Ik was blij met: The wardens, Terry and Elaine were great. Very helpful, siting my caravan on and off pitch due to very boggy grass. Always happy to help with any query. Site clean and well maintained. Quiet and peaceful. Easy access to Hornsea, Bridlington and Filey for groceries and the beaches.

Ik was blij met: A lovely quite site, the welcome we got when we arrived was outstanding, the site had the best facilities and very clean, no noise at night just perfect , looking forward to returning

Ik was blij met: Lovely site. Clean modern facilities. Owners and staff very helpful Did a little Easter egg hunt for the kids on Easter Sunday kids really enjoyed it. We will be back!

Ik was blij met: The site was tidy, they are trying to be a good site but think it would make a better seasonal site.

Ik was niet zo blij met: The pitch we got put on was next to the main sewage pipe so the smell was terrible, day after staff came round asking if we had paid and how and advised the field we should have been on was flooded and they had cancelled some bookings. Would have been nice to have been given the option to cancel if the pitch was not available, in the end we left a day early. Toilet block had no handwash for over a day and shower was cold.

Ik was blij met: Location - village pub & facilities

Ik was niet zo blij met: Not being met on arrival with no instruction for when 'office' is empty No bank/credit card payment facilities .. bank transfer only Heating in toilet block set to 5 degrees ... brrrrrrrrr Toilets while modern soon ran out of loo roll & were not cleaned during our stay. Only one shower .. we were lucky the site was more or less empty

Ik was blij met: Decent site, stayed on a grass only pitch. Showers and loos clean and new. Located near to the village and pub, walk the other direction to the coast. Out of season so there's no reception and phoned for check-in, had the grass area to myself which is next to a minor road. All round a reasonable site for a stop over on route.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

If you’re coming to the coast for a few beach days, you'll have plenty of choice – as well as strolling over to your local beach, you could head south to Hornsea (10 minutes’ drive) or north to Bridlington (15 minutes). The first is also home to the Bugtopia zoo, Honeysuckle Farm and fishing or sailing on Hornsea Mere, while the second has Bridlington Animal Park and various boat trips to tempt you away from the beach. A little further north again is Flamborough Head (half an hour), known as an excellent place for spotting sea birds. You may well also spot some wildlife while exploring the Yorkshire Wolds (20 minutes), either on walks, bike rides or horse-riding outings (20 minutes). Urban time can easily be on the cards as well. Day trips to Hull (35 minutes) come highly recommended, for trips to The Deep aquarium and the Streetlife Museum of Transport, and the lovely market town of Beverley (25 minutes) is well worth a wander too.
