Big skies, lots of open space, starry nights, stunning sunrises and sunsets… and pretty much nothing to interfere with your peaceful wild camping experience. If that sounds like the kind of experience you’re after for your Suffolk break, take a look at My Suffolk Meadow. This is a true no-frills off-grid site, with pitches mown into five acres of private meadow and no facilities beyond portable toilets. No clubhouse, no shower block, no electric hook-ups – just yourselves and the wonderful nature around you. Kids and dogs are welcome but you’ll need to keep the latter on a lead and under close control while on site. There are cats, ducks and chickens on site – as family pets they generally stay near the main house but may wander onto the campsite from time to time. Despite feeling very remote, this site is actually pretty easy to get to, as it’s just a 10-minute drive from the A14. There are a couple of village pubs, takeaways and a convenience store five minutes’ drive away and more options for places to eat in Stowmarket (10 minutes’ drive), which also has shops and supermarkets. As you might expect, the area around the site is great for walks and bike rides along quiet lanes; a little further afield, your days out might take you to places like Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham and Ickworth House, or over to the coast for a day in Aldeburgh or Southwold.

Staanplaats voor een tent of camper op gras en aarde zonder elektriciteit

Ik was blij met Stayed here for the first time last night wild camping and it was a lovely remote area for a relaxing, quiet stay in the suffolk countryside. Excellent pitch sizes that are well spaced out. Couldn't hear any road noise and was extremely peaceful. The location is easy to find. There is a compost toilet available. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be returning again
