No children, but plenty of wildlife – and a field of horses as your nearest neighbours… It’s all a very relaxed and peaceful experience at adults-only Francis Fields, in rural Oxfordshire about five minutes’ drive from the market town of Deddington. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind, perhaps taking a stroll around the farm to meet the horses and ponies (ask on site if you’d like a proper introduction), finding a spot for a picnic or just chilling out in a deckchair with a drink of your choice and soaking up the uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. It’s not just the human guests that appreciate this location – other visitors often include foxes, badgers, deer, owls and birds of prey, all of which you might catch sight of if you tread carefully or sit quietly enough. As an adults-only site children are not allowed to stay here, but travelling horses and dogs are welcome. The local pub, 10 minutes’ walk away, is also a dog-friendly place – and with tasty food and a good range of beers into the bargain. More shops and pubs are up in Deddington, along with a monthly farmers’ market. Back on site, you’ll be staying on a gently sloping field where pitches are mown into the wild grass. Solar lighting illuminates each pitch, the access track and the toilet and shower areas, and there are firepits to hire for a nice warm alfresco evening.

  • Minderjarigen (18-) dienen te worden vergezeld door een ouder en/of officiële voogd.
  • Honden moeten getatoeëerd of gechipt zijn.
  • Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan. Denk aan de pitbullterriër en tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro.
  • Het reserveren voor vrijgezellenfeesten is niet toegestaan via Pitchup.com.
  • Voertuigen met tandemas zijn niet toegestaan op deze camping.
  • Gasten jonger dan 16 zijn hier niet toegestaan.
  • Er mogen geen reserveringen worden gemaakt voor meer dan 42 aaneengesloten nachten.
  • Commerciële voertuigen (voertuigen die gebruikt worden voor werk en/of het vervoeren van goederen of betalende passagiers) en voertuigen met reclameboodschappen zijn verboden op het terrein.
  • Kortingskaarten en cadeaubonnen kunnen niet gebruikt worden bij reserveringen via Pitchup.com.
  • Minstens één lid van het gezelschap dient 21 of ouder te zijn.
  • Onderkomens die langer zijn dan 9 meter, zijn niet toegestaan.
  • Onderkomens die zwaarder zijn dan 3500 , zijn niet toegestaan.
  • Minimumafstand van 5 meter tussen de staplaatsen.
  • Dit is een rustige plek: muziek is strikt verboden.
  • Als je vuur wilt maken, dien je de brandstof, houtblokken en kolen daarvoor ter plaatse te kopen.
  • Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
  • Houd er rekening mee dat de toiletten/douches uniseks zijn.
  • Geen elektrische barbecues toegestaan.
  • Er is geen receptie ter plaatse: neem bij aankomst contact op met het nummer dat in de reserveringsbevestiging vermeld staat.
  • Bij droog, winderig en/of heet weer zijn vuren, barbecues en vuurkorven niet toegestaan.
  • Het opladen van elektrische voertuigen is niet toegestaan op het terrein.
  • If you wish to use your vehicle outside of the no-movement times (10pm-7.30am) please park in the overflow designated parking.

Ik was blij met Absolutely beautiful site! You can clearly tell the owners take care and have passion for this campsite, with definite dedication & future plans

We popped into the local town, ten minute drive away for a drink and a Chinese.

Very peaceful having your own secluded pitch away from others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Ik was blij met fenced off pitch meant our dog could chill and be off lead - wonderful for him and us. Plenty of space, peaceful site. Great showers, very clean loos and washing up area. Easy to find. Nice walk around the farm (check the info hut for the map). Super site.

Ik was niet blij met Couldn't quite get the wifi up the top of the field (not an issue for us but might bother some)

Great weekend. We will be back

Great location if you enjoy a bit of shopping, with Bicester Village just around the corner. The site is extremely well looked after – very clean, quiet, and tidy. We received a warm and informative welcome email ahead of our stay, which had everything we needed to know. We’ll definitely be returning!

Ik was blij met I stayed in one of the non electric enclosed pitches, I felt so relaxed knowing my little dog was safe and she could roam without worrying where she was. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe...I had the best night sleep I have had in months! And it was just so lovely waking up to the sound of nature and the birds. A beautiful view of the rolling hills and a lovely stop to watch the sunset. Really lovely clean site with very clean facilities, all the pitches looked very spacious. I was only there for a day and night, wish I could have stayed longer, but it is just what I needed!

Ik was blij met Peaceful in the most beautiful surroundings, we walked the fields and got the most fantastic views.
The owners were lovely and kept everywhere immaculate, always cleaning the toilets, showers & wash up area.
The farmer who looks after the farm was so nice, would stop & chat to us giving great info on local places to see.
We loved it here & will be back.

Ik was blij met Lovely fenced pitches, lots of space and felt pretty private. Showers and toilets immaculately clean. Easy walk down the road to the pub which served great food. WiFi was available although the signal to our pitch wasn't great.

Staying at Francis Fields, you’ll be just on the edge of the Cotswolds National Landscape, putting you within easy reach of lots of gorgeous walking and cycling routes (and a good number of country pubs to stop at…) Some favourite options nearby include walks around the Rollright Stones, or a grander tour of Broughton Castle (both 20 minutes’ drive). Even grander are the lavish stately home and landscaped gardens (designed by Capability Brown, no less) at Blenheim Palace (15 minutes). If your current togs aren’t up to scratch for such things, hit the outlet stores at Bicester Village (20 minutes). The Cotswolds Distillery (25 minutes) is another good place to shop, with a café and distillery tours on offer too. Other days out nearby might take you into Oxford (half an hour) to tour the colleges and museums or try your hand at the art of punting, or to the high-speed action at the Silverstone circuit (35 minutes).
