Get cosy between the city of Hereford and the peaks of the Black Mountains… with sheep as far as the eye can see and fields and woodlands all around, Broadmeadow Glamping feels surprisingly distant from the centre of Hereford, despite it being only 10 minutes’ drive away. Sitting alongside the local flying club’s grassy airstrip, this family-friendly site welcomes dogs to share in a glamping holiday in a cosy heated shepherd's hut. Just make sure you have your hiking gear at the ready, because the surrounding land rises into steep mountain peaks that are ripe grounds for walking, and once you’ve finished with the hilly parts, Hereford and Symonds Yat (25 minutes’ drive) are ready for some riverside rambles (or relaxation). No matter how far or high you go, you can always return to the comfort of a soak in the heated indoor swimming pool in the afternoons and evenings back on site (or simply take a shower if you've not got any energy left…). Now, how to end the day? Choose between a cosy campfire (a firepit is provided, along with outdoor seating and lanterns) or grab some bits for the barbecue (or the cooker if it's not barbecue-friendly weather) from the local shop, five minutes’ drive away. Want the chopping and cooking taken care of? That’s fine too, as there are several pubs within a 10-minute drive and cuisines for every taste in Hereford. Please note that the pull-out floor mattress is only suitable for young children.

Ik was blij met Had a lovely weekend here making lots of memories with the family. Suprised at how comfy the beds are and the swimming pool was a massive plus point. The facilities within the kitchen area were good - enough pots/pans/cups/cutlery and the gas supply to get us throuhh the weekend.
The little tree houses within the forest area were so lovely for the kids to play on.
The outlook onto the airfield was so lovely and kept the kids entertained with the jets landing and taking off throughout the day.
Owners were so lovely and accommodating. Always on hand if you needed help with anything.
Look out for the little field mice! There so so cute...thankyou for a lovely stay.

Ik was niet blij met The key/lock on the main shed/cabin didnt actually work from the inside, so we didnt feel safe during the night.
Couldn't get any of the plugs or lights to work whilst we stayed which wasnt an issue in the day, but on the night it was so so dark. The little lamps supplied were handy though!

Trekkershut

Ik was blij met Really warm welcome from Sally. Beautifully appointed shepherd's hut in its own enclosed area with plenty of space for a wonderful break. Pool access was the icing on the cake , we made full use of it every day.

Ik was blij met This glamping site is no more than 10 minutes from Hereford in wide open countryside. Location is quiet, rural and has great 360 degree views. Self contained accommodation, with comfortable bed and it's own flushing loo. Great dog walking options immediately from the door. It's beneficial to have a car if you stay here due to the rural location. Thoughtful touches in the accommodation including the provision of a cool box and ice packs and a mini log burner. We didn't use the pool on site but this is a nice added extra. The owners were helpful and happy to recommend local attractions and eateries....

Ik was blij met We had absolutely amazing time at Broadmeadow Glamping. The location was secluded and secured. The facilities were great and outdoor area was spacious with its private woodland. We had fantastic time and didn't have to worry about the dog as he was secured within the site. There is plenty of space for walks, local pubs and shops are not far and the night sky absolutely stunning!! Highly recommend

Ik was blij met Everything. It was simply bliss. We were well looked after by our hosts and the cabin was beautiful we wished we could have stayed longer. The woodland was wonderful to have our breakfast in and the swimming pool was amazing! The table football and sandpit was a bonus for our daughter . Thank you for a brilliant stay.

Ik was blij met Absolutely amazing place so peaceful and surreal with the town centre close by. Lush walks and Absolutel bonus with the private pool in the barn. Excellent host and the chance to see planes fly as situated on the air strip perfect relaxing retreat.

Let the river carry you away… in Symonds Yat (25 minutes' drive), you can pick between wild swimming or canoeing your way along the River Wye. If you’re not drawn inside the friendly atmosphere of one of the riverside pubs, you can then follow the cycling track all the way to Monmouth and back. Those who prefer to make headway on foot also have plenty of choice. At ‘the holy mountain’ of Skirrid Fawr (half an hour), you’re just as likely to stumble upon old myths and legends as you are rocky ridges. Alternatively, tick off the peaks of the Sugar Loaf (40 minutes), Hay Bluff (45 minutes) or the Black Mountains (an hour). Go a little Tarzan-esque in the Forest of Dean (40 minutes), where Go Ape will have you swinging from the treetops, and footpaths, streams, ponds and picnic areas are likely to keep you occupied for hours. The Wye Valley National Landscape (15 minutes) is nearby, stretching for miles, with cycling and walking paths galore.
