Hey Farm Campsite is set on a hilltop field with views across Wardlow village in the Peak District National Park. This is a top Derbyshire spot for walkers and cyclists, with spectacular routes directly from the site. You can enjoy a five-minute evening stroll across moorland to the trig point at Hay Cop, and look back down to your tent, or take a longer hike to Longstone Edge (50 minutes) for cracking views across the Derbyshire Dales. The national park has scores of options for bikers, from circular routes for the family to the Monsal Trail on a former railway line and arduous stretches of the High Peak Trail. If you fancy a trip out, the Wye riverside town of Bakewell (10 minutes) is home of the famed Bakewell Pudding, and you can sample it in tea shops and cafés galore. While you’re there, you might as well pay a visit to the supermarket for all those vital bits and bobs you’ll need for your camping adventure. Here on this back-to-basics site, facilities are just as it says on the tin ... pretty basic, but all guests have access to a portable toilet and fresh running cold water plus a washing-up area with views over the fields. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on leads while you’re pottering about on site, as this is a working farm.
