Mi è piaciuto Gorgeous spot - we saw (and heard!) lots of wildlife and the stargazing was amazing, we were lucky it was really clear. Close to Pickering and Helmsley which we visited, lovely towns. The owner was really friendly and sorted us with a fire pit at the last minute on Friday evening - and swapped a note for us for some £1 coins for the shower! We loved our stay here, two nights on a weekend is just never enough time!

Mi è piaciuto Been before so knew the set up. Large pitches, we only had one night here this time, not too far for us to travel and to test out some new kit. Great facilities, and a friendly welcome ☺️

Mi è piaciuto Small but perfectly formed site! Excellent facilities with own water supply for our electric hook-up tent pitch. You can hire firepits and buy logs from the lovely, friendly owner, Hannah - who makes an effort to come round and meet everyone on site (something you don't always get). Close to Withernsea and other coastal resorts we visited – Hornsea and Bridlington. The messaging service to communicate with Hannah just before and while staying on site was a game changer. We will be back!

Mi è piaciuto Location, stunning views, peace and quiet and then the hut itself - absolutely gorgeous and kitted out with everything we needed for a little break away for our anniversary. Dave greeted us and showed us how things worked on arrival and Beryl came over later on to say hello and let us know there'd been a power cut - it was no issue at all, we headed down to the pub for a bite to eat and by the time we returned, it was back on! Little touches like the Prosecco, cookies, milk and OJ were very much appreciated. We saw a fox early morning but sadly didn't spot any deer. We loved our stay and look forward to visiting again!

Mi è piaciuto Lovely, peaceful and spotlessly clean/tidy site with some of the best facilities we've ever had while camping. Very recently taken over and the new owners have big plans – so the brilliant wardens Tony and Sheila told us. They were great, stopped for a chat with us every day to make sure we had everything we needed and answer any questions. It's only a 10 minute drive from Cherry Burton (the site is just on the outskirts of the village) into Beverley, you could probably walk it in around an hour. We popped in for some lunch and a look around the shops on the Saturday afternoon. There's also a small shop (Budgens) in Cherry Burton village which seemed well stocked (we called in for BBQ coals). We were lucky to have great weather over the weekend – dry and sunny but not too hot. We enjoyed an evening walk around the abandoned golf club next to the site – although this might be back up and running in the near future and access to it closed off. The toilet/shower block was amazing, absolutely pristine – 5 x the same set-up, each with shower, loo and sink. The site also has some self-contained cabins you can hire towards the back – we might look into to these outside of camping season (it looks like one of these is available through PitchUp). A few of the reviews we read before we went mentioned the site having a lot of work done and that it was untidy – not sure how people expect things to be improved or get done, but it felt pretty tidy to us, some fencing had been put up to hide some of the machinery etc. There are plans for the marquee towards the back of the site to be opened back up again in the future – for now there is a gazebo set up as a bar selling drinks on an evening (Fri and Sat anyway, not sure about other evenings) and picnic tables to sit on.

Non mi è piaciuto Only a small gripe, just something I'd ask PitchUp to change, really – we chose the site as it was listed as adults only, and it's not – there were kids there at the same time as us, only a few but a bit noisy on the Friday evening. There are also plans to expand the site with a kids playground. We'd visit again but outside of school holidays.

Mi è piaciuto Knowing what to expect - we've been twice before and love Woolly Lodge. Liz has thought of everything – it's a cosy little cabin with all the comforts of home. Arriving on Friday afternoon, we could log on to the WiFi to finish up some work bits, then switch off and enjoy our time there. We enjoyed using the firepit and having a BBQ this time, as our previous trips have been during the autumn and we've not been able to enjoy the outside space due to the weather. Our friends booked in to the other cabin (Rita's Retreat) and we took a day trip together to nearby Matlock on the Saturday. The surroundings are gorgeous, just sheep and fields! Just pack some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper as there can be some traffic noise from the main road.

Mi è piaciuto Third visit to this site and it was just as good as previous times. Love the views and the short walk in to Withernsea, this time to the Blue Light festival and a look in the shops, as well as our favourite Rosy Leaf cafe – amazing coffee and cakes every time. It's a nice, peaceful site (albeit a bit noisy with kids as it's the school holidays at the moment!) with incredible views. We were hampered by strong winds as well this weekend, which made getting the tent down a bit of a challenge, but that has nothing to do with the site. We'll be back!

Mi è piaciuto The spectacular views across the sea, never stayed anywhere as close to the sea as this - you are basically on the edge of a cliff! Listening to the waves crashing in on a morning and then watching the sun rise was just perfect

Non mi è piaciuto Not enough facilities - would be great if they had more toilets and showers but appreciate it’s quite a new site so they may do in future
