Mi è piaciuto We came in May and liked it so much that we cancelled our planned trip elsewhere and rebooked to come here again!. Like before, everything is spot on (apart from the hand dryer, which isn't very powerful!) Lovely big showers, clean toilets, well kept site, large pitches and friendly staff on site. If you prefer a level pitch, ask to be sited nearer to the entrance. 3 pubs within 30 mins walk. 2 are lovely and well decorated, whereas the other one (Kings Arms) is more of a "local" pub, but still friendly, albeit a bit noisy as it's quite small. Retford itself (a flat walk taking about an hour, but with pit stops along the way!) is a nice little market town with plenty of the usual chains and some independent shops, plus many different pubs and bars.

Mi è piaciuto Absolutely brilliant! Great size level grass pitch, 2 minutes walk to the facilities and the lovely pub. All staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't try the wi-fi as used my data, but signal seemed pretty good. A couple of dips, but you are in the countryside after all. Pub food is lovely, with the best veggie lasagne I've ever had! (So good that I ate it twice during our 3 night stay!) All home cooked food, not microwaved. Chips are fab too! Whilst the toilet and shower facilities weren't particularly modern, they were exceptionally clean. Plenty of hot water, decent hand dryer, and whilst we didn't use the shower (we have our own) I did turn one on anyway, just to see if it was powerful and it seemed great. The site is situated on a fairly main road with some daytime noise (it didn't bother us as we live in a city so are used to it), but all seemed very quiet at night. Lovely scenic local area too, we walked the 4 miles into Cheadle one day, passing many other nice looking pubs en route. Mostly flat with a slight short incline halfway or so along. On a bus route too if desired. Cannot recommend the site enough and we will be looking to return with friends next year! Thanks to all for a lovely stay!

Non mi è piaciuto If I absolutely had to criticise anything, it would be the pot wash area. There's only 1 sink, which isn't a major issue as it's only a small site, but none of it is undercover, so I'm not sure that people would be too pleased about trying to wash up if it's lashing it down with rain on their heads! Luckily, we fared very well with the October weather and only had rain at night, but definitely for the team something to look into. I did also notice that there is a disabled friendly toilet, but there is a step to enter it, which would be a bit of a challenge for any wheelchair users! Maybe just a small oversight. Not complaints, just comments!

Mi è piaciuto Absolutely everything! Couldn't fault it at all, huge pitches, very quiet, lovely pub on site, and another lovely one down the road, both with great food. 10 mins drive to nearby towns for shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Nothing to do in Stanton By Dale itself, but that's exactly what we wanted! All staff and owners really friendly and welcoming, especially Sue and Libby. Despite only living 20 mins away and just wanting a quick easy break, we'd never ventured to this little hidden gem before, but we will certainly be back!

Non mi è piaciuto If I had to have a really minor grumble about anything it would be the quite poor internet signal around the pitch, but it wasn't a big deal to us. If we needed a better signal we went inside the pub. Just something to be aware of if it matters to you.

Mi è piaciuto Everything! Great site, huge pitch, well lit, easy to access from main road, really peaceful. Highly recommended!

Non mi è piaciuto Nothing! Minor points to note - The wifi was quite intermittent, but it was the Jubilee bank holiday so the site was full and I expect everyone was using it. Wasn't an issue for me though, I wasn't there to be online. The only minor downside is that they don't allow tents which is a shame as we'd like to come with camping friends in future.
