Mi è piaciuto Close proximity to water and grey water emptying facilities. Very helpful staff. Lots of bike riding on safe dedicated cycling paths.

Non mi è piaciuto We opted to be independent of an electric hookup so we were placed in what can only be described as a car park/aire. We though this to be expensive given the amount we paid. The wifi was free but useless as it couldn't be accessed from our "car park" location! The pitch was not level and too small to put up an awning. It was also next to the site entrance so it was always noisy. The large commercial rubbish bins were actually emptied by lorry at 05:30 one day. That was tricky to sleep through!

Mi è piaciuto The large landscaped pitch with services (tap, grey water drain) actually on the pitch. The cycle riding in the area was scenic with a lot of it off road. The beach was only a short ride or walk away and it was very nice. Very helpful staff.

Non mi è piaciuto The chemical toilet emptying point was not the best. It was very cramped with difficult access to lift the drain cover. I used a tent peg extractor! The free wifi was very poor and couldn't cope on an evening presumably when greater demands were placed on it. Luckily the mobile data signal was strong.

Mi è piaciuto The large pitch size, electricity supply at 10A and the close proximity of drinking water taps and chemical toilet emptying point. All pitches seemed to be level. The swimming pool was a good size, clean and well maintained. Being heated was a real bonus this early in the season. A reasonably priced Super U supermarket on the doorstep (0.9 km away) made for easy buying of "essential" top ups such as bread, wine and beer! There were lots of opportunities for long, safe bike riding in the charming surrounding countryside. The free site wifi was one of the best I have encountered on a campsite in that it was fast, reliable and supported more than a single device on one account.

Non mi è piaciuto The sinks for washing up and washing clothes needed cleaning much more often. They had the appearance of not having been cleaned in a long time. It was not easy navigating a fairly large motorhome down some of the narrow site roads due to there being far too many low, over-hanging tree branches. They really do need cutting back to avoid damaging the paintwork on larger vehicles. Be careful if using Google maps to navigate here as it will get things badly wrong in the final km and send you down narrow roads to camp entrances that no longer exist!

Mi è piaciuto Plenty of washing up/clothes washing facilities with running hot water, all within easy walking distance from the pitches. Chemical toilet emptying points were numerous and never more than a short walk away. The swimming pool was large, clean and well maintained with the reassuring presence of a life guard permanently in attendance. A 50 m walk from one of the site entrances revealed a fantastically beautiful sandy beach. There was a shop on site. The prices were inevitably higher than the local supermarkets but daily bread collection was made very convenient. The camp staff were excellent at enforcing the midnight noise curfew.

Non mi è piaciuto Although the site pitches were large, the owners permitted semi-permanent renters to fill them to overflowing with multiple awnings. This had the overall effect of making the whole camping experience feel massively overcrowded, especially on a weekend when the Spanish families descended en masse! Holiday makers wanting a quieter experience might want to keep this in mind. A simple solution would be to site visiting motorhomes and caravans to the less used regions of the campsite away from the semi-permanent renters. The site wifi was useless, especially at weekends so I just topped up my data for less money

Mi è piaciuto The spacious site, 10 amp hook up (16 would have been better!), beautiful scenery and close proximity to service points. The local cycle routes were extensive and very safe from cars. Good price. The wifi had to be paid for but it was reasonably priced and reliable. The receptionist was very helpful and smiled patiently whilst I practiced my french!

Non mi è piaciuto The pool was not open. This was a disappointment as we like to swim for exercise every day even if the temperatures are less than tropical at this time of year.

Mi è piaciuto The pitch size was large. The staff were friendly. The pool size was impressive and very clean. The site was conveniently placed for cycle rides. The free wifi was much better than the average poor service provided by most campsites.

Non mi è piaciuto The chemical toilet point was situated a long way from our pitch. An alternative would have helped.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely small site, well positioned for walking and biking. Within walking distance from Whitby. Quiet, with good views of the Abbey and sea. Very friendly staff.

Non mi è piaciuto No wifi but a strong mobile signal enabled me to connect my PC through my phone.
