Mi è piaciuto This was a return visit to our favourite campsite. Everything was wonderful, from the cheerful welcome, to the ultra-clean toilets and the view across the estuary. We choose this site for its access to the Tarka trail where we can cycle traffic-free into nearby places like Barnstable, Bideford, Instow and Appledore. But the site is excellent in its own right.

Mi è piaciuto Another return to this excellent site. Friendly and helpful warden. Good level pitches. Facilities immaculate. Lovely location in the Gloucestershire countryside with a good long walk uphill into North Nibley. Excellent Cafe and bar next Door.

Non mi è piaciuto The noise from the nearby M5 is the only thing that stops this being the perfect site.

Mi è piaciuto This was our favourite site this year. Staff so welcoming and helpful. Excellent immaculate facilities. Great location by river with a short walk into town. Bread in the morning. We enjoyed a wonderful picnic in the ground of the nearby Chateau. We have good experiences of municipal sites in France.

Mi è piaciuto Friendly welcome. Beautiful lakeside setting. Great for fishing (we don't fish). We saw a neighbour catch a huge fish! Good size pitch with all facilities working. Excellent cycle routes nearby.

Non mi è piaciuto Facilities working but basic and not very clean. The site is mostly residential with tourers almost an afterthought. We were very distracted by a neglected dog on the next pitch which was left tied up outside for more than 24 hours unattended and kept whining for our attention. We reported this to staff who said people on this pitch worked late and left dog behind. We thought this animal neglect unacceptable and it really spoilt our stay.

Mi è piaciuto Friendly welcome. Nice big pitch. Excellent location for exploring the Loire by bike, and a short walk into Montjean where there are good bars and cafes. Good swimming pool. Good clean facilities. Staff (family?) very friendly and helpful.

Non mi è piaciuto Winding down for end-of-season felt a bit premature. It was only beginning of September but no bread and bar ran out of beer. Yet there were still plenty of campers.

Mi è piaciuto Superb location for visiting St Valery-sur-somme by bicycle (great cycle routes). Friendly welcome. Good clean facilities. We plan to return.

Non mi è piaciuto Although the toilet block was very good and clean, it was strangely designed with a long walk from the toilet cubicle to hand washing sink. Also the weather was windy and cubicle doors flapping in the wind.

Mi è piaciuto This was our third stay at this site. Excellent facilities and a great restaurant (which was thankfully still open and managed to find space for us despite having a large party in). Great location close to the Calais Ferry. The local Blockhaus is worth a visit and there is a large supermarket and a bakery within walking distance. We even liked Basil Fawlty on reception - who allowed us to change pitch as we were worried about heavy rain bogging us in!

Mi è piaciuto Good sized pitch and very quiet. Very much end-of-season and we were the only tourers present. Lovely location next to lake with good cycle routes into nearby towns and villages including La Loupe. Bread available to be ordered from reception. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Non mi è piaciuto Toilet block was adequate and had everything we needed, but in need of maintenance and not very clean. We didn't like the freshwater tap being immediately above the chemical toilet point which had a broken cover. We therefore didn't trust the water for drinking.

Dal gestore: Thank you for your pleasant feedback on the campsite in general. We are sorry that you found that the sanitary is not very clean because we regularly intervene there. On the other hand, we are sorry that you thought that the only freshwater point is above the drainage area of the motorhomes. At this place we have voluntarily put up signs so that the camping(forklift drivers clean their box with the 'dirty water' tap and fill their motorhome with the 'clean water' tap. There is no sign in the sanitary but all the water points in the sanitary are made of drinking water.

Mi è piaciuto This was a return visit for us to a clean and well organised site that is very handy for the ferry or tunnel to the continent. The showers are good (and clean) and all facilities that we need were excellent.

Non mi è piaciuto The gate to leave is not unlocked until 7am so beware if you need to catch an early ferry.

Mi è piaciuto Superb location for walking and cycling or just for lazing in the sun. The shower/toilet block looked brand new and the facilities were wonderful. We were made very welcome and the natives were friendly! We loved it! We made good use of the cycle trail to visit local towns and villages and eat cream teas.

Non mi è piaciuto It would be nice to have laundry facilities - and I imagine that the number of showers is barely adequate when the site is full - but fine when we were there.

Mi è piaciuto Beautiful site with wonderful facilities. Toilets, showers and pot wash all kept well-maintained and clean. Really friendly welcome from excellent host/warden. Set in lovely Gloucestershire countryside. Next door is a very good pub with good pub grub and real ale. Lovely walk into the picturesque village of North Nibley. This was our second visit and we would visit again.

Non mi è piaciuto There's only one drawback to this site. The close proximity (and noise) of the M5.

Mi è piaciuto Very friendly welcome. Good level pitch with electric, water and drainage. Toilet block fantastic, and the cleanest we have seen. If we were giving out awards the receptionist would get one for the friendliest welcome, and the woman who cleaned the toilets for the most thorough job we gave seen. The location is fabulous with walks around lake "coco". We also walked through the forest into town not visit the castle.

Non mi è piaciuto I'm afraid that we didn't like this site. It was very pretty but the toilet block was disgusting. The site is almost all statics, chalets and residents with very little thought given to tourers. The impressive looking bar-restaurant was closed, even though there were enough non-tourers on site to make it viable.

Dal gestore: Merci pour l’avis mais même s’il y a des résidents cela ne veut pas dire qu’ils vont venir au bar, la preuve il est fermé. Tout le monde a repris le boulot et les enfants en route pour l’école. La saison estivale termine vers le 15 août. Pour les sanitaires, ils ont 5 ans mais le sol est dans son jus et a 40 ans. Nous veillerons à cela comme travaux prochains. Cordialement, bonne continuation au plaisir !

Mi è piaciuto Excellent, well organised site with good facilities. Friendly welcome. The clean, well-equipped toilet block was much appreciated after bad experiences at the previous campsite. There is a good-looking bar and restaurant although we didn't make use of it. Good stopover for Calais ferry. Local town not far away has all facilities.

Non mi è piaciuto Very busy, even in late September. The chemical toilet disposal had no water supply for "green" purposes. We found this a great inconvenience as we could not clean our toilet properly, and the "green" claim bogus because it just means that clients have to re-clean toilets at next stop - so water usage is just passed on to someone else.

Mi è piaciuto This was a return visit because we liked the site so much before. Excellent facilities, and a friendly welcome. fresh bread in the morning. Heated swimming pool. Short walk into the village with its fantastic historical ruined Abbey and interesting mediaeval church. You can also take a walk or cycle ride along the Seine.

Non mi è piaciuto Pitches are a little on the small side and not much grass on the them - mostly mud.

Mi è piaciuto This is one of the best sites we have ever visited. Level grass pitch with electric hook-up. Lovely welcome. Fantastic facilities, including a bar/snack where we had our four-a-clock beer each day. Flat cycle routes in all directions to interesting historic towns. Fresh bread every day, and only a 300m walk into the village for boulangerie and restaurant. Would definitely return.

Non mi è piaciuto All pitches under trees, which is great in hot weather, but in rain the the drip-drip keeps you awake in the night.

Mi è piaciuto A welcome return to one of our favourite sites. Excellent facilities with lovely showers and a great outdoor pot-wash. Stunning scenery. A well planned walk around the farms including the "fairy glen". Friendly welcome and a small but well-stocked shop. We love it here and plan to return. It's an excellent stop-over point on the way to Scotland for us.

Non mi è piaciuto No dislikes - but difficult getting pitched level as it's a very hilly site. .

Mi è piaciuto Stunning location. Quiet site with relaxed vibe. Really friendly welcome. Excellent facilities.Lovely to see the animals in the "mini- zoo". Wonderful for bird watchers with wading birds etc in bay. Our favourite site of the year.

Non mi è piaciuto Only minor dislikes. A pot-wash would be nice, as would more hooks in the toilet and showers to stop clothes getting wet. Also the layout of the gents toilets is weird with pedestal crammed against one wall of cubicle, and 3 sinks crammed next to partition so only one can be used at a time.

Mi è piaciuto This is a delightful site with fabulous facilities and a lovely warden. The pitch was level and dry, with good electric hook-up. The toilets, showers, washing up facilities etc were excellent and kept immaculately keen. The warden was welcoming, and dealt superbly with some inconsiderate noisy campers nearby. She also helped us when our van broke down. I cannot praise her highly enough. The location is excellent for exploring the South Gloucestershire countryside. We went to Berkley, Slimbridge and climbed Tyndale's monument.

Non mi è piaciuto Noisy neighbours (dealt with superbly by the warden). Noise from the M5.
