Mi è piaciuto Kind enough to let us in although we had arrived after reception closed. Well shaded campsite with a good range of facilities, clean bathrooms and washing up area, laundry, swimming pool, family-run restaurant with good food at decent prices, reception and night staff fluent in English, very secure with barrier, fence, and keycard access only. Low price for camping - very good value. Close to monastery and great sunset views, at the top of a hill next to the interesting historical city of Guimaraes. Plenty of parking space outside campsite. Allowed to drive car on site to unload and load. Lots of taps for drinking water. Would have liked to stay longer to make better use of the facilities and explore the area more.

Non mi è piaciuto Difficult to contact campsite. Phoned numbers on booking when we were running late for check-in. One number unanswered; the other answered by the teleferico cable car company, who said they didn't know but thought check-in would be fine until 10pm. In fact we were told that check-in strictly closes at 7pm. Very dusty - pitching on dusty ground (not grass) in a dry summer. Could not leave car near tent but had to park off site. Long one-way system around top of hill slowed down this process. Also a long drive up the hill, which used up a lot of electric car battery getting there, and chargers nearby were switched off. Long time to wait for laundry to be unlocked in the morning - eventually an hour after we were told it would be. Campsite chosen for a visit to Porto - in retrospect the distance (nearly 2 hours' drive in heavy traffic) and cost of travelling perhaps outweighed the low cost of staying.

Mi è piaciuto Well organised, plenty of space for tent and car, clean bathroom and washing up area, late check-in, sun-warmed swimming pool, secure with gate and fencing, pretty view of hills from tent, walking distance to sea, nearby village with many restaurants, shops, recycling facilities, and car charging, quiet at night, bar and restaurant, entertainment activities, receptionist available in bar and spoke English, wifi and plug sockets available for public use. Visiting group of children as marching saucepan band at 10.30am. Spent single night here on a long road trip and would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the facilities and explore the area.

Non mi è piaciuto Showers - timed out after 15 seconds, sprayed shower area and were not very hot.. Reception appeared closed initially but receptionist could be found in bar. Village with shop etc not within walking distance, tents further from main bathroom, family got lost coming back to tent. Price highest of all 7 campsites we stayed at on a long road trip.

Mi è piaciuto Advertised like a holiday camp but turns out to be a peaceful, relaxed, and ecologically minded campsite. Great facilities for families with young and grown up children - showers, bathrooms, washing up, playground, swimming pool with slide, recycling, electric vehicle chargers, shop, bar and restaurant, small pet zoo, organised entertainment. Safe - gated, fenced and lit at night. OK about our arriving a little late, and staying after packing up to swim, quiet at night without excessive light pollution, allowing dark sky viewing, helpful polite staff fluent in English and French, laundry, electrical sockets for public use (eg charging phones). This was an overnight stay on a long road trip but we wished we could have stayed another night to make better use of the facilities and explore the area.

Non mi è piaciuto More remote than expected - far off motorway. A little tricky to navigate after dark because of the layout of the site.

Mi è piaciuto Hot showers & freezer for ice packs (short walk), clean toilets & washing up area, drinking water tap, stunning and convenient location, tidy & well organised, soft ground for pegs on lower pitches. Absence of midges during daylight & wind. Seamless check-in for booked pitches with no problem arriving late - just arrived and pitched tent. Didn't see staff at all while there, but good response over email when changed booking details. Safe camping during high winds and thunderstorm. Allowed controlled firepits (though we didn't bring one). Peaceful camping with little noise. Good access on C2C route with bus stop nearby; organised car parking spaces but possible to camp without bringing a car. Short drive to Seathwaite for Scafell Pike Corridor Route (or could walk it in a mile). Data signal variable but better than expected on Vodafone network. Wifi available near showers but didn't use.

Non mi è piaciuto Midges - out from dusk to dawn, eating us alive and ignoring insect repellent. Tried moving from lower to upper pitch to avoid them, to no avail. Rocks below ground in upper pitch made pegging difficult.
