Mi è piaciuto The woodland setting had a very family friendly vibe and we enjoyed the freedom to pitch multiple tents for the kids. There was a handy essentials hut to make purchases and the portaloos always smelled fresh and clean - for a portaloo. The owners camped on site and were very nice and chatty.

Non mi è piaciuto Sadly the site didn’t provide the isolation and privacy I expected from the blurb. I could clearly see and hear the other pitches, one van playing loud music in the small hours, and people were constantly walking right by our pitch from both sides - I dare say we unintentionally intruded on other pitches too. I guess my idea of going off grid and completely switching off includes from people too. Had to buy a lot of water too.

Mi è piaciuto Great location and price. Encouraged to pitch well away from other pitches. The views were pretty, the people friendly and the portaloo clean.

Non mi è piaciuto Camping fields on hillside so hard to find a level pitches at all, quite steep for sleeping. There was a lot of camp junk where I pitched - tent pegs, a lighter, cigarette butts, ground fire pit full of ash. No evening check that rules being adhered to by everyone.

Mi è piaciuto Good sized pitches, good facilities and lovely location. Excellent family holiday and access to brilliant local tourist areas. Friendly staff in shop, less so in pub.

Non mi è piaciuto Very close proximity to next tent (about 2m) so could hear absolutely everything and not fire safe. Pitch slightly sloping but lots of flat land available. Dogs being toilet walked on the unoccupied tent pitches, and yes there was droppings near our tent. Our pitch being rather intrusively checked for not burning wood multiple times but ofcourse the people actually burning wood get away with it. Kids on electric bikes, electric scooters and cars doing laps of the site. Lots of very young children swearing in family areas.

Mi è piaciuto Nice views, location and flat pitch.

Non mi è piaciuto The wash station was in the women’s toilet/shower block which is rather sexist and required men to enter the women’s block to do the pots. Rowdy teens cycling all over the place and playing ball games. They damaged our tent running sound unsupervised. Not enough space for those activities. Some campers having fires while others inconvenienced themselves following the temporary rules not to have fires due to drought. Owners seemed nice but no intention of ensuring rules were followed.

Mi è piaciuto Special location with stunning views. Emma the owner was very friendly. Pick your own pitch. Cuddly cats. Toilets and showers were fab. Lovely breeze in the heat. Excellent value for money.

Non mi è piaciuto Felt it was advertised as a family/couples site but plenty of groups of teens/young adults being inconsiderate with volume late into the night. Large nettle patch stinging me on my way to the loo. Toilets not checked frequently enough when site is busier.

Mi è piaciuto Greeted by the owner (I think) who was friendly enough to chat to. Seemed to be a decent offering in the shop. It was a quiet day so got a nice pitch in the corner of a practically empty field with a lot of shade on a scorching day. The pitches were lush and tidy. Had a walk around the lake which seemed fab for fishing.

Non mi è piaciuto The female only toilet was permanently locked and the mixed toilets were as expected. Toilet seat up, wet floors and a pong. The hedges were such amazing screens that they were full of birds screeching away from dawn - and I do like wildlife but I like sleep more. A little lacking in character.
