Mi è piaciuto Small very well serviced site with great views. Toilets and showers are excellent and so warm. Obviously countryside, bike paths and walks are really good. Wash-up was inside and warm a relatively unusual occurrence we have found. All pitch’s are fully serviced with water and electric

Mi è piaciuto Really friendly site with plenty of space for grandkids to play. Facilities are good, very well maintained and always very clean. Although touring site is on a hill real care has been taken to ensure that there are plenty of flat pitches. Highland cows, donkeys and goats an added bonus for the kids ( and aging adults!) Close enough ( five minutes on a bike) to the trans pennine trail with off shoot rail trails, and several nature reserves to make for several days interesting cycling. ( don’t forget your binoculars like we did !!!)

Mi è piaciuto Very friendly easy going site. Plenty of space and very good facilities. Ideal for families with children ( although we didn’t have any with us) as there is so much space to play. The small shop even sold icecream ( it was very hot) Excellent pub within walking distance.

Mi è piaciuto Great site with some lovely views.Second time we’ve stayed and facilities have been improved since last time ( and they weren’t bad then) Really spacious site with some great walks ( Path to the valley is particularly steep but worth it) Plenty of great cycling routes although most are on ( relatively quiet) roads. Local pub does great meals with a fantastic view across the valley. Very relaxed site with loads of space for kids to play.

Non mi è piaciuto Unfortunately this time it was both wet and windy so spent a lot of time in the van. Obviously not a comment on the site ( just a comment) Certainly the front field ( there are 4) really gets the wind coming up the valley so be aware when camping in the wind, but loads of space elsewhere.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely simple little site. Excellent toilets and showers owners really pleasant and helpful. Enclosed field so very safe environment for taking young children. Feels very rural and quiet ( apart from the combine harvester !!) Great little dairy farm shop a short walk away. Just the site for a young family. Regular bus from the village to York.

Mi è piaciuto Very clean quiet site with good facilities. 2 minute walk to the pub selling excellent meals. Small site but felt really secure and well serviced. All facilities on site very accessible ( close but not too close!) and of excellent standard. Several nature reserves in cycling distance.

Non mi è piaciuto Pitches not massive and a bit tight on a small site. A bit windy !!!!

Mi è piaciuto This is a relatively small, quite quiet site (although not visited in school holiday time I admit). The site is well laid out with ample space between caravans, but we were able to chat to neighbours easily if we so desired. It is apparent that a number of the caravans are privately owned, which seems to enhance the friendly atmosphere. We are both bikers but it made no difference to the warm welcome received, (unlike some places). We obviously hired a small van (2/4 berth) but it was well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable so that this meant that, coupled with the peaceful environment we both slept really well. Shower, cooking facilities, TV, radio were excellent. Didn't try any heating as the weather was really hot ! The owners of the site are extremely helpful and friendly, without being intrusive. They run a little convenience facility on site which meant we could get everything we needed, without feeling we were paying over the odds. They always seemed to be available when we needed any help or information, and genuinely seemed to want us to enjoy the Island. The owners bought to our attention the path to the beach which is a pleasant shaded walk, (important on a very hot day) and an equally pleasant walk across the fields to the local pub which served very reasonable food and excellent beer. Altogether we thoroughly enjoyed our stay except wished we had booked a full week rather than the three days. Great site and fabulous weather - what more could you want.

Non mi è piaciuto The weather got too hot to ride the bike in the early afternoon, though not sure we can blame that on Sunnycott !!!
