Mi è piaciuto Very well kept site, easy to find and get to. Checking in is via phone but not a problem as there is a good sgnal. A very nifty little honesty shop just at the entrance which stocks the basics and some other items which may appeal to some. The facilities are well maintained, small but practical and free to use. The area is quiet and calmimg, just farm noise and a few aeroplanes flying around along with the birds and other wildlife.

Non mi è piaciuto The electric hook up is only 6amp, which will not support a standard kettle or small electrical heater. 6amp will however, maintain your lighting and other lower powered equipment . The whole site is uneven underfoot so be carefull if you are a little unstable on your feet. Chocks for your van are provided if you feel the need. A level pitch would help alot.

Mi è piaciuto Small and peaceful site. Very well maintained. The facilities are outstanding for a site this size. We shall return

Non mi è piaciuto The weather, but only the high on high can control that.

Mi è piaciuto Tranquil site, very friendly, large pitches, great facilities. This site is in a lovely peaceful area used by the lake fishing fraternity. You don't have to partake in that activity if you choose not to. There are some very nice walks around the lakes, except on match days. The facilities are clean and well maintained, a point to note though there are two toilets and 2 showers, (for each gender), and one accessible wash room, so it may be a bit busy sometimes.

Mi è piaciuto In the main, this is a peaceful site, great facilities and pitches. The views are very open and give this site a tranquil feeling. A nice welcoming pub within a 15 minute walk which serves great food and a few good ales.

Non mi è piaciuto Not much to dislike but the signage from the main road needs to be a bit more noticeable.

Dal gestore: pleased you had a nice time

Mi è piaciuto Large clean pitches, quirky snazy facilities with hot and cold running water. Fantastic site owners. We were greeted with smiles, welcomes and 6 fresh eggs!

Non mi è piaciuto Not much of a gripe but the site is close to a road, didn't really bother us but should be considered if you want a totally quiet site. Also, wish we could book in earlier to enjoy the site for longer!

Dal gestore: Hi John, Thankyou very much for your kind review, we are so pleased you liked our site - and the eggs! If you would like to check in earlier please contact us directly and we will check if its possible, most of the time it will be but we just ask that you let us know and double check with us. We hope to see you soon! Thankyou again, West Hale Gate Campsite

Mi è piaciuto Nice little site, clean and quiet. A few vehicles passing some of the time but not a bother really. Easy check in, just a quick phone call. Nice large pitch and well maintained. Warm water in the toilets but no water available for the pot wash, no taps!. Again not a problem, we just washed our pots in the toilet sink. No hand drying in the toilets but once we knew, we just took a small towel. Will be back in the warmer weather.

Non mi è piaciuto A bit pricey for this time of year but I knew that when I booked. Perhaps a winter discount may have helped?

Dal gestore: Thankyou for taking the time to leave this review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and we look forward to seeing you again in the warmer weather. We do offer our low season rate from the end of September to March but we will take your feedback on board - THCP

Mi è piaciuto Nice well set out site. Flat pitches that are well kept. Facilities are kept clean, two toilets and two showers are adequate for quiet times but in busy times there are queues, (would be useful to increase the number of toilets), Steve maintains the site well and is always on hand to help.with any issues.

Non mi è piaciuto Nothing

Mi è piaciuto Great peaceful secure site. The facilities are beyond expectations, very clean and looked after. No hand wash basin in the toilet cuticles but basins are available at each end of the building The site is quite close to a couple of decent pubs, not sure about the quality of the food as I didn't eat at them. Dave, the site manager is a top man, very helpful and informative. The site borders on Castle Donnington airport so aircraft noise is inevitable. Don't let put you off though, it is still worth staying here.

Non mi è piaciuto No wash basin in the toilet cubicles?
