Mi è piaciuto This site was chosen as it is Adults only, on a bus route and also fairly close to home (45 mins away). When we arrived we were advised they were moving us to a different pitch than they had planned, as we wouldn’t need levelling ramps, and probably due to our small size. The staff were lovely and friendly. The pitch was perfect, nice and private with shelter from the sun by the trees, with water, waste and electric. The facilities were lovely and clean and modern - the piped music was a nice touch! We also liked the wicker figures around the site and the fairy lights at night. We were right under the flight path for the local airport, so that combined my two hobbies - camping and planes - perfect! We took a walk to the airport and had a drink at the Aviator Inn, and watched the planes coming and going. (Be warned, the walk is along a fairly busy and fast road that doesn’t have a footpath). There was some road noise but that doesn’t bother us as we live by the M5. Local transport was efficient to get to both Gloucester and Cheltenham and further afield. Would definitely recommend.

It's lovely to hear the pitch change worked out so well too. We always try to allocate the most suitable pitch we can, and it sounds as though yours was just right, with plenty of privacy and some very welcome shade from the sunshine! We're so pleased you enjoyed our clean, modern facilities and the piped music! It's also lovely that you noticed the wicker sculptures and fairy lights around the park. They're some of those little touches we hope help make Briarfields feel a bit special. We had to smile at your comments about the aircraft. Being close to Gloucestershire Airport isn't everyone's cup of tea, so finding a guest who can combine two hobbies – camping and plane spotting – is absolutely perfect! It sounds as though your visit to the Aviator Inn rounded things off nicely too. Ooh re the walk to the Aviator there is an off road route across the fields then onto a footpath for the last stretch. The other safe route is turn left out of the park and follow the B4063 and turn left at the set of lights and continue along the footpath and you'll see the Aviator on your right hand side. Maps can be found on our noticeboards. We're also pleased you made good use of the buses to Cheltenham and Gloucester. Having such regular public transport right outside the park is a real bonus for guests who want to leave the car or motorhome behind and explore. Thank you again for your recommendation and, best of all, for having nothing to dislike! We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope that, being only 45 minutes away, we'll be seeing you back at Briarfields before too long.

Mi è piaciuto Very easy to find on the main road from Abergavenny to Hereford. The owners and staff are very friendly and are doing a great job sprucing up the park with new shrubs planted to separate the individual level pitches. After reading reviews I knew that the shower block was being updated- they were spotless and the showers were lovely and warm and powerful. The onsite pub has a great menu - my husband raved about the pie being the best he’s ever had - so for that reason we will have to return so I can have one! There’s a bus stop outside the site which can take you to Abergavenny in one direction and Hereford in the other.

Non mi è piaciuto You needed to buy tokens for the showers which are placed into the machine in the toilet area and the water comes on instantly in the shower cubicle, so please make sure you have the curtain pulled across before inserting the token or your things hanging on the back of the door will get wet. There are no benches inside the cubicles to sit down or place things. There is however a large bench inside the main toilet area.
