Non mi è piaciuto The only, minor downside if there at a busy time, is that there are just three toilets and three showers on a site which is mainly tents and small campers ie no on board facilities.

Mi è piaciuto Peaceful small site in a great location to visit several different areas. The washblock facilities were warm and clean with liquid soap and washing up liquid provided and even relaxing music playing in the background. Very good instructions sent in advance

Non mi è piaciuto The emphasis on Campsite rules in the pre arrival information had us a little concerned whether it was going to feel very regimented, however this was not the case at all. The M6 is nearby and a road runs behind the site. We noticed the noise the first night as we have a VW Transporter with pop top, the second night we pulled the top bed down before going to sleep and it made a huge difference. Presumably those without a canvas roof don’t hear the traffic.

Mi è piaciuto A really peaceful spot in a great location in terms of the views, ease of access to areas of The Lake District, North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and Northumberland and being directly opposite a pub, albeit one with limited opening hours. The Wi-Fi at the pitch was good enough for streaming from i player. Our pitch was level as all of them seemed to be, plenty of water points and a clean, warm, shower and toilet by the pub.

Mi è piaciuto Very well kept and well equipped site with very friendly helpful staff. A mix of level pitches and others needing levelling ramps. A good location for exploring the area but with an excellent shop, both for food and camping equipment as well as the bar and restaurant, it would be quite possible to never leave the site if you didn’t way to. A special note for the great wash blocks, one traditional style ie separate cubicles for showers, toilets and wash basins and a newer one made up of bathrooms, all scrupulously clean.

Non mi è piaciuto One patch of the hard standing was solid and even with stronger pegs and a new hammer bought in the shop we couldn’t get the last corner of awning pegs in. It’s always the last ones!!

Mi è piaciuto Very friendly reception from Andrew who was helpful throughout. We could choose our own pitch from the four areas of the site, a large field with lots of families enjoying the space, a woodland area, grass and hard standing area surrounded by trees and a hard standing area with the beck running below, something to suit everyone. There is a small shop, toilets, showers, water and Elsan facilities and the site had a relaxed, casual but well run feel to it. Lovely views towards Pendle Hill and plenty of footpaths for walking nearby.

Mi è piaciuto We received a friendly welcome to this peaceful, well kept site with level, good sized pitches and well kept grounds. The site was clean and tidy. The toilet/ washblock was cheerful, clean and warm with the nice addition of toiletries at the basins and in the showers.

Non mi è piaciuto We didn’t dislike anything. There is a background distant hum of noise from the M4 but we didn’t find that intrusive.
