Mi è piaciuto This is a really lovely site which is well maintained by owners who clearly take great pride in it, they're always working and gardening to keep it looking beautiful. It's clean and tidy throughout, peaceful, calm, a very well run site. The location is very good, in a quiet rural spot, but the supermarket and small town are only a few minutes drive away, and it's a good base for days out. There's a choice of pitch sizes, ours was huge, and the pitches have trees separating them which we loved for the privacy and for the shade.

Mi è piaciuto The site is in an excellent location for visiting local towns, castles etc, there's so much to see and do in the area. It is also well placed for supermarkets and other amenities. The site is well presented and nicely laid out, although some of the roads through the site are tight with a caravan. There are lots of clean, useful facilities, toilet blocks, waste disposal etc and the pot wash was great. It's a good site for families with good pools and areas for children to play. Overall I would recommend it, especially to families with young children.

Non mi è piaciuto Unfortunately the pitch we were allocated for our touring caravan was incredibly muddy, there was no grass at all just mud and a small gravel area that wouldn't even fit the car on never mind the caravan and awning. Between the large tree in the middle of the pitch and the huge muddy ruts left by previous vehicles only half of the pitch was usable and that was still very muddy. Everything felt so dirty all the time, we didn't want to sit out on the pitch, we just stayed in the awning and that never felt clean. Attending to the caravan, eg getting and disposing of water, was really unpleasant and dirty, we've never been anywhere where we've had to wash our aqua roll because it was constantly covered in mud. I appreciate that it rained quite a bit, but if that's the weather in the area then plan for it and gravel some pitches or remove some trees to allow pitches to dry out and not sit constantly in the shade. I would have liked to change pitch, as ours was the worst we saw, however, their website says it's 35€ to choose your own pitch so I didn't like to ask.

Mi è piaciuto We loved it. It's the nicest site we've been to in terms of its location by the Dordogne. Because we visited just as the season ended it was quiet we had the pick of all the pitches so chose a riverside pitch. When we opened our caravan blinds all we could see was the river a few metres away, it was wonderful. The site is low key and laid back and felt very peaceful. Lovely staff, great bread and pastries in the morning, clean, well maintained. The toilet facilities were clean and well thought out. Supermarket etc 10 minutes drive in Argentat. Good location for exploring the east of the Dordogne area and far more peaceful than than the west more touristy Dordogne.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely site in a great location. Spacious pitch overlooking the river and forest. Near main roads for convenience of getting there, but the site is set back from the roads so you wouldn't know the roads were there. Great location for visiting local towns and castles. Good supermarket 3 mins drive away. Immaculate toilets and showers, well planned so that the toilets have some privacy from people showering etc, some of the best bathroom facilities we've ever seen.

Mi è piaciuto A really nice, clean, friendly site. The pitches are very generous with big spaces between them. There's a large grass area in the centre with a children's play park and despite there being quite a few children on bikes and playing football there was still loads of room for everyone to do their own thing in peace and our thing was sitting on our lovely big grass area and enjoying the view! It felt very secure with the gate triggered by ANPR. We really appreciated the hands off arrival, we received all the information we needed by email including our pitch number and were free to arrive and set up without arranging arrival times etc which we don't always know. But if you prefer a hands on welcome there is always someone around and everyone was really friendly. I was very happy to see the ice cream van on site, and my husband was equally impressed to see that there was a guy selling pizza, shout out to The Big Dog Pizza, highly recommend! It's only a mile into Darwen for shops etc. It's a really relaxed, but well run site and we'd definitely go back.

Mi è piaciuto Superb! Absolutely stunning location in the forest by the river and close to a lovely town. Excellent pitches, large and with hedges to separate you from the neighbouring pitches. We were lucky enough to have a river side pitch which was beautiful. Excellent toilet, shower and pot washing facilities, everything is brand new and immaculately clean. The whole site was very clean and tidy and had a really peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. We loved it!

Mi è piaciuto We stayed for 9 nights and absolutely loved it. Superb location, 5 mins walk to Cheddar village centre including a small Tesco and medium Sainsburys, and 15 mins walk to the start of all of the Cheddar Gorge shops and attractions. The campsite itself is next to a river and a lovely church, there are views to the hills and there's a dog walking area a couple of mins outside the gate. The site is busy, but peaceful, very clean and well maintained, and the pitch gave us plenty of room for our car, caravan and awning. The toilet and shower block is superb, the best we've seen, absolutely spotless and well designed and laid out for privacy and dignity! The wider area is lovely, rural, but an easy drive to Wells, Glastonbury, Bristol, Brean etc.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely little site, friendly, quiet and well maintained, and the toilet and showers are spotless. It's easy to get to and near to the A roads, but set back from the road with countryside views all around, it's really peaceful. The location is perfect for Stratford-upon-Avon and the North Cotswolds, there's lots of walking, sightseeing and historic properties in the area.

Mi è piaciuto Absolutely spotless site, the grounds and pitches are very well maintained and the toilet and shower block was clean. It felt very safe with barrier entry that required a code to enter and exit. The site is next to an A road which you can sometimes hear, but can't see. I was slightly put off booking by reading other reviews regarding the location, but it was fine, it's not a busy dual carriageway, just a fast-moving rural road which is really handy for accessing nearby attractions, it was exactly as expected from looking at maps and the owners description. It's close to the motorway and convenient to get to especially if, like us, you are arriving after work in the dark. The wider location is fabulous, very close to Warton Crag, Hest Bank, Arnside, Silverdale and Kirkby Lonsdale, if you're a walker it's a really lovely area, you're spoilt for choice. The canal is very close and there's a nice farm within walking distance that has a lovely shop as well as plenty for kids to do.
