Mi è piaciuto Location for walking the East Fife coast path. Free choice of pitch. Excellent views. Clean facilities, proper sized showers, good hot water. Elsan points throughout the site.

Mi è piaciuto Location. Easy walk to 3 Counties Showground. Large pitches. Quiet & peaceful.

Non mi è piaciuto General site appearance shows lack of care & maintenance. Very basic toilet & shower facility, not as clean or maintained as well as it should be. No signage for Chemical Toilet facility. Over priced considering all this.

Non mi è piaciuto Booking information does not specify that it's Cash Only at campsite, even though tea-room takes cards! Very basic site, no showers so quite expensive for what you get. No grey waste disposal drain.

This information is clearly stated on Pitchup.com before booking and also included in the text message guests receive prior to arrival, so we're sorry if this was overlooked during your booking process. We're very surprised and concerned by your comments about "no showers" and "no grey waste disposal drain." To clarify for future guests, Balkenna Campsite has brand new, modern, and consistently spotless toilet and shower facilities, with reliable hot water for showers, sinks, and washing-up areas, a feature many visitors frequently praise. We also have dedicated grey waste disposal areas and fresh water taps conveniently located on site. We pride ourselves on offering great value for a small, friendly site with excellent facilities, mostly level pitches, and breathtaking views. We sincerely regret that your experience did not reflect the high standards we maintain. We hope that despite these misunderstandings, you still found some enjoyment in your stay with us.

Mi è piaciuto This is a little gem of a site. Wonderful views, good size pitches. Lovely warm welcome. We only did an overnight for the ferry but I wish we'd been there longer. Sparklingly clean and new facility block, one of the best showers we've had.

We did look into hand driers but they are very high wattage and therefore not energy efficient or environmentally friendly and we wanted to have our facilities as environmentally friendly as possible with minimal energy requirements hence our solar PV and solar thermal amongst other great energy efficient gadgets, fresh hand towels provided in the shower block each day.
